TO is licking his chops...

If Owens uses this opportunity to help a young qb develop, he will have the one shot at redeeming the selfish image he has earned himself.

If he can do the things a veteran receiver can and should do for a young quarterback - feed him info about defenses, block aggressively, run the routes precisely and be where the qb expects him to be, hold onto the ball when it comes his way, and more than anything else, support him in actions and in words and take his back....then TO may be able to resurrect his good name.

If he can rejoice with Tony over success, commiserate over failures and not put himself first, he could put his sorry past behind him.

It's a wonderful opportunity for Owens..one he probably will never get again.

I will never forget what Keyshawn Johnson told Ray Lucas in 1999, (a much less talented and much less prepared qb than Tony R is today): Don't worry about anything. Just put the ball somewhere near me and I will get it."

And damn it, he did just that.

Yeah, it was 'just gimme the ball bravado', but Key helped that kid so much....it was magical and I never since seen Johnson so engaged and engaging. The totally callow qb brought out the best in Key.

It's thrilling to see a whole team find that extra measure of 'moxie'..see them play extra hard to help a young qb succeed.

This is one time it needs to be about 'someone else'. It will be interesting to see if Owens can subordinate his ego to the demands of 'raising' a young qb.

Key isnt TO and, TO isnt Key.

Would be a chance of a lifetime for him. I just dont see it happening. Too much me and hype, not enough ...get 'er dun.

I see Owens doing this. I think you are right on.
When Romo ran that TD in the other night... Owens was the first one to LITERALLY pick Romo up off the ground... yeah I think Owens knows what he has in Romo... and Romo knows that TO can make him look good.... its ALL in the best interest of the team.

You mean you HOPE it doesnt happen.

It ok... walk into the light.....

i wish BP would sit down with TO and say this to him. it would show BP's respect for TO, and i think TO would reciprocate in kind.

It wasn't like he came in the second half with a 21 point deficit to overcome.
The Cowboys were within reach when he took the field.

And Romo took them out of reach. Just added a tad more pressure wouldn't ya think? We abandoned our running game which was no help for a first time starter.

Romo has a good chance to do some thing here. More than can be said for skins my friend.
