As the Dallas Cowboys entered Sunday afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, they did so as one of only two teams that had not won a game in their own building yet.

What was notable about this 20-point deficit was that it set an NFL record for the most consecutive games in which a team had a 20-point deficit in their home building.

This streak started in the blowout loss at home to the Packers in the playoffs a season ago, and through the first handful of games this year. This team has been down 20 to the Saints, Ravens, Lions and Eagles all at home.

I'm wary of coordinators, mainly OC, that don't call the plays during the game. Do they help prepare the gameplan? I'm sure. But if we are going to have a Head coach with a mindset on offense, I sort of want to of seen him be the successful//up and coming OC at his previous team.
Miami this year has been pretty underwhelming, even with Tua healthy, on offense.

Have seen his name before pop up, so maybe there is something there the fans aren't aware of.

To return to relevance, the Cowboys need to make sweeping changes when the calendar flips to 2025...

Replace Mike McCarthy

Make a Blockbuster Trade

Reload the Running Back Platoon

Find Dak Prescott's Heir

none of that will work until Jerry is replaced. it would wash, rinse repeat....
another lame coach.
block boster trade like trading cooper for a 5th
a RB is not going to fix the OL issues
and finding a QB even in the first round has a 20% chance. people talk about finding an elite QB as if there is a 1-800-ELITEQB number to call and request one. not sure, perhaps we can order one off amazon.
should we not look? yes, but to say hey just find the Heir is nothing but a statement that any idiot can make. again, not saying we shouldn't try.

To succeed in the draft, any player has to be in the top 10. Any position gone after.

Last season they had a productive offense. Similar to Dallas. Now they are nowhere as bad.

A top-five draft pick in 2025 is a real possibility

Dallas has dug itself into a huge hole. On top of that, they just aren't a good football team. Their offense was stagnant even with Prescott at the helm, and that will continue under Rush and Lance. Defensively, the Cowboys are at the bottom of the barrel in most categories, and they were awful even when they were healthy. To top it all off, there's not a single team left of the Cowboys schedule that they are better than at the moment except maybe the Carolina Panthers, and even that's a toss up right now. Anything can happen, of course, but it just seems like wins for the Cowboys will be few and far between from now until January when their season ends.

Asim Richards was solid in the absence of Tyler Guyton at LT

Asim Richards had the spotlight on him against the Eagles as he got his first career start. In 60 plays, he looked pretty good for the most part. Richards did a nice job in pass protection as he didn't over set, and he used his hands well throughout the game. Also, he showed some power and athleticism as well getting to his spots.

Of course, Richards is still raw and needs more work, but for a guy that hasn't seen the field much, he looked very solid overall. Richards played some left guard and right guard for the Cowboys a season ago, which speaks to his versatility. So, he has value in multiple spots, and it gives the Cowboys some much-needed depth to work with. Richards is certainly a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the season.

Richards and Smith paired is as interesting as Guyton and Martin paired.

The Texan game is a good chance to watch this Coordinator in action...against Dallas.

One day, someone will write the book on how the Cowboys went from winning 16 straight home games to losing five straight at AT&T Stadium — and trailing by 20 or more points in each defeat. It might not be a record, but it sure feels like one. Granted, we all kind of knew what was coming, with a rising Eagles team meeting a down-and-out Cowboys club without its quarterback, Dak Prescott — now for the rest of the season, per Jerry Jones. The roof has metaphorically caved in over the past month, with four straight losses, and Dallas has a Monday night meeting with the Texans and a road trip to face the Commanders on deck.

It’s rare when a team gets rid of the same player a year too early and a year too late. But these are the Cowboys, who never should’ve re-signed washed-up RB Ezekiel Elliott, now averaging 3.2 yards per carry … when he’s actually active.

I understand that Mike McCarthy and Cooper Rush had a rapport and that Rush has a good record as a spot starter for Dak Prescott. I also understand that it’s okay to label Trey Lance a project not worth reclamation at this moment in time. I realize I can’t have it both ways, supporting Shane Steichen for benching Anthony Richardson and chiding McCarthy for not playing Lance. But if you were McCarthy and could read the room, getting Lance some easy completions, running a few empty draws, moving the football in a fun way with a quarterback you could attach some modicum of positivity to … isn’t that infinitely better?

Maybe not popular but Dallas needs to focus on defense and win lower scoring games with more ball control if Dak is going to be QB and he is.
