I'm wary of coordinators, mainly OC, that don't call the plays during the game. Do they help prepare the gameplan? I'm sure. But if we are going to have a Head coach with a mindset on offense, I sort of want to of seen him be the successful//up and coming OC at his previous team.
Miami this year has been pretty underwhelming, even with Tua healthy, on offense.

Have seen his name before pop up, so maybe there is something there the fans aren't aware of.
In my experience, a true HC that oversees every aspect of the game, from clock management, substitution, situational play calling, game plans, deal with officials, media and FO....that's the way to go. A true HC with the ability to crack the whip.

To return to relevance, the Cowboys need to make sweeping changes when the calendar flips to 2025...

Replace Mike McCarthy

Make a Blockbuster Trade

Reload the Running Back Platoon

Find Dak Prescott's Heir

Changing coaches hasn’t helped and Dak was just extended so he’s going to be the QB for at least the next 4 years. They won’t be looking for his replacement to groom for at least a couple of years unless this latest injury causes his play to drop off more than what we saw this season.

I didn’t say that but the QB isn’t going to be replaced any time soon.
A good coach can and will help him. He sits on the sideline by himself, never getting coached up and settled down by a coach. A good HC wouldn't stand for that.

A good coach that isn’t a yes man and has enough control would help but that’s not how Jerry operates.

What I stated has nothing to do with Jerry...has everything to do with coaching...I will concede, that Jerry is an idiot for letting it happen

True, a good coach will stand his ground and win on his own merit, not with nodding his head in agreement. Players can tell where there is responsive leadership and not a role in Hollywood attractions.

Lamb probably disagrees that the sunlight works to the Cowboys’ advantage. He also was not the first Dallas player to lose a ball in the glare at AT&T Stadium, and it even cost the team once in a playoff game.

At this point, Jones’ unwillingness to address the issue seems like a matter of principle and nothing else.

The cowboys are always relevant and that’s the problem

A year of all 12pm games and no attendance and Jerry would draft the best qb, hire Ben Johnson…..let McClay fully take over GM duties (he’s still be GM in name though) and find the nastiest DT’s in history

I heard the Cowboys could be flexed out of a couple of prime time games. That would chap his Hide.

IT was Jethro being satisfied with relevancy that got us in this spot in the first place.

In that order. If JJ hires Riley, the team is screwed. Dude has looked bad with his own recruits at OU and USC. Doesn't believe in S&C. Doesn't believe in defense. One truck pony.

It's looking like a strong possibility we will be picking top 5. Shedeur is intriguing, but I want to see how he closes out the season and approaches the combine/Senior Bowl before making the final call. Otherwise, maybe Milroe drops due to a poor season in a new offense. A Saban/Milroe combo would definitely make headlines, but I don't see Nick coming out of retirement for this mess.

I'd be happy with a trade back to 10-12 and taking Jeanty, and taking an OT/DE/DT/WR in that order late 1st/early 2nd. This team is fixable, but it'll take the right coach and the right off-season moves, meaning spending in FA. Will JJ break the mold? I doubt it, but he's taken alot of heat this year. Maybe that affects his decision making.

Draft a QB not named Sanders
Hire innovative HC and staff.
Turn over GM title.
Stay the heck out of the way.

Jerry, this is your only avenue to finish your tenure not being the laughing stock of the NFL and the single cause of destroying the greatest sports Dynasty ever.

Maybe not popular but Dallas needs to focus on defense and win lower scoring games with more ball control if Dak is going to be QB and he is.
Better get some real DT's then. Go back and watch the Eagles game if you dare. Jordan Davis was doubled most of the game, leaving Jalen Carter to beat the crap out of anyone left to deal with him one-on-one. Who do we have at DT that can do that? Mazi was getting blown back by a center that weighs 30 pounds less than him.
