We are finally going into a season where there is reason to believe we have a chance of winning it all. The pieces are now in place to pull it off. For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason. It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels. And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career. Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength. Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment. Not life and death. It's meant to be fun. And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.

Unless something major occurs between today and September 13, Dallas has the potential of having a good to very good regular season. The team's actual regular season work (as it always will be in the sport) shall lay the groundwork of its potential to excel in the postseason, not before. How the team actually performs in the potential playoffs shall dictate whether it has the potential to win it all, not before.

The pieces are now in place to pull it off.
That is not a fact if-and-until it comes true. I hope it is true, but the team will either make it true or they will not make it true. That's football.

For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason.
Give him credit for doing a good job as general manager during an offseason after decades of doing an average to subpar job? I will go on record, right now, today, August 19, 2026, 2:00 pm ish, with this post:

^ here is the link that anyone can save, throw it back into my face, and my only response will be 'thank you for reminding me'

and say I will give Jerral Wayne Jones Sr. a ton of respect if the team reaches, at minimum, the NFC Championship game. He will not be receiving any more than that from me given what he has done to his own franchise for decades. Some may say they disagree and that it is unfair, but I would disagree with their disagreement.

It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels.
That is partially true. I will supplement the entire sequence of events for your observation. Jones initially mishandled contract negotiations with Micah Parsons, which continued to deteriorate to the point when the optimal course of action available to him was to trade Parsons. That set of circumstances precipitated the defense's revamping (along with a highly anticipated defensive coordinator upgrade) that has transpired up to the present day, with the latest being the Von Miller signing.

In other words, the Parsons trade was not the first domino that fell and got the defense where it is today. It could have been the first domino if Jones had not been doing his usual Jonesing.

And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career.
Namecalling can make any posting less than it can possibly be.

Dak Prescott may have the best season of his career. He plays football though. I tend to be superstitious when anyone claims how well an athlete's year shall unequivocally unfold.

Personally, I hope Prescott is holding up the Lombardi trophy this February instead of his right foot after sustaining a compound fracture and complete dislocation of his ankle.

I wish Prescott will shove the team winning a championship into the faces of all his doubters during the postgame Super Bowl celebration instead of him suffering a partial hamstring avulsion, where the tendon physically tore almost completely from his pelvis.

I desire seeing Prescott talk his head off, boasting repeatedly 'I told you so' with his lips two inches from the network camera and see his tonsils and not have him dealing with a fractured thumb on EITHER hand along the way to that great day.

The sport is a war of attrition for every single player. He can make his own great season without anyone else (lacking a time machine) saying how great it will, without question, be.

Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength.
I hope this isn't jinx day on CowboysZone.

Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.
We may have a roster capable of pulling it off. Time will decide that possibly beyond a shadow of a doubt. That said, it is good to read the understanding of how events must take place to manifest ultimate success.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment.
True.

Not life and death.
True.

It's meant to be fun.
True.

And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.
We will all see. Allow the team to prove you right. And if there is some wacky, crazy, totally out of left field ending for this team's 2026 season, let's not blame anyone outside the locker room and front office for how the year ended in real life.

Go Cowboys.

Heard it all before. Hope your right but history tells us otherwise.
Anybody that doesn't realize how different this 2026 team is then they shouldn't respond. This isn't just another year with glaring weaknesses everywhere. If you can't handle it, fine. Be miserable or keep trolling. Whatever the case.

Give him credit? Are you kidding me? If we do finally win it then what took him so long? 30 years of wasted years that he could have been all in trying to win a title. All those players careers that he wasted. No if we win I'll give the credit to the current players and coaches that finally overcame Jerry's dysfunctional organization. I Wouldn't count our chickens before they hatch either. It would be just like the Cowboys to get everyone excited again only to flop in the playoffs. I hope they win the SB. I'm tired of them being the laughing stock of the league every year. I am more encouraged than I have been in a long time but this team hasn't even played one game yet. Again it will be a cold day in Hell before I give Jerry. Jones any credit.

Because you cannot control us you are projecting your misery and frustration of that onto us. If you cannot handle other people responding to your "fan my way or you're not a real fan" call out then maybe it is you who should stop posting.

A question please.

Do you believe any post or thread created on a discussion board will not receive unwanted replies?

Damn I'm still wondering whether I'm worthy to be a
"True Fellow Cowboys Fan"
These "real fan" posts always get me

I'm excited for sure. I also feel it could be special season.

But football, like life is a proponent of luck factor. We need to stay healthy all year, hope that some players show up when they need to.

We need calls to go our way. Not commit bonehead penalties, when we dont need to.

See what I mean, so much is out of our control. But this team is building on good bones.

Will see where it goes.

Being a "true" Cowboys fan has nothing to do w/ being excited or not. Would've been nice if you'd have left out the cheap little callout thingie.
