It's more than just the Patriots. A lot of teams have been very successful overall since the salary cap. The Pats, Broncos, Giants, Packers, Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, Ravens, and Eagles have all had multiple Super Bowls and Championship games. Dallas not so much. The obvious reason's why is not explained away by the salary cap. It's bad GM, Coaching, and players. It has been systemic. Everyone knows it too.

The GM is THE most important position on a football franchise.
When you have an amateur running your team you are at such a competitive disadvantage.
Knowing that’s our situation, its kinda hard to get “excited “

Yup. Like I said earlier, I "enjoy" football season and watching the team but I agree, it's very hard to get "excited" and to be expecting different results/outcomes at this point. Basically, it's like making the same recipe and expecting it to taste "different" this time, every year. Nah, it's just an OK cupcake. Need a better chef. LOL!

Yep, I have just come to the conclusion that we are never winning in the post season with Jerry large and in charge.
I am 18 years younger than him so hopefully I will see a new GM in my lifetime

I think he is over 34-35 years older than me and I'm worried about him outliving me at this point. He might live to 120. I know fans here in the DMV want him to live "forever". One of my buddies keeps telling me that.

Fortunately for me I still have more years with success than without but it’s catching up unfortunately.

Either way it doesn’t affect my interest or following . Shoot my Alma Mater went 50 years in-between winning a conf champ and I still followed faithfully .

That’s all part of being a fan. Obviously it’s more fun winning .

Just started a new account after taking a long break from this place, glad to see Jerry’s #1 online shill is still around and in splendid form.

My post was pretty tame by the way, nothing out of the ordinary or overly vitriolic. I even mentioned that my interest\excitement level is currently way higher than it was at this time last year which is nothing short of a miracle to be honest — I just won’t fall for the hype ever again before seeing results on the field. A perfectly reasonable stance given the circumstances, it doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy watching the games either.

With that being said, I’m well aware that trying to gaslight people into thinking they’re stupid for doubting or being cautious when the past 30 years have been an absolute clown show is just part of your passive-aggressive blind homer shtick so no worries there Rocky.

It's like a broken record. I see it from a coaches POV. I was used to making changes, from staff, to scheme, line ups, etc. With the Boys, I can't change anything except the channel. I haven't done that since 1975, so I just grin and bear it.

I'm not from Austin. And it is definitely not what it was when I arrived in the early 2000s. But it is nothing compared to the lifeless, jobless dust bowl known as south Texas. I bet you do your part as well.

Their latest fans are just used to getting happy with winning "Regular season" games, sometimes.

The fact of the matter is that most of us who gripe about not having playoff success now are ones that saw it literally ALL THE TIME when we were younger. It was more of a shock to not get to the NFC championship game. Now, younger people are out of their minds happy winning 9 or 10 games. Getting bounced from the playoffs is like "mehh, oh well it was a great year".

Eventually all of us older fans will die off and they can have the team to themselves. Lol I was 30 the last time the Cowboys played in any championship game. If I only knew then what I know now.

I don't think anybody's better because I don't believe fandom is a competition it's just different for everybody.

Circumstances alter cases and every fan has a slightly different viewpoint because of what they've experienced.

Having watched the best of cowboy football in the moment the product I watch now leaves me uninspired.

I continue to watch because I am hopeful that at some point our owner will actually go all in and use his resources to do what's right and try and win a championship.

An offseason like this where effort was actually made definitely gives me hope.
