To true fellow Cowboy fans. it's OK to be excited

I'm not from Austin. And it is definitely not what it was when I arrived in the early 2000s. But it is nothing compared to the lifeless, jobless dust bowl known as south Texas. I bet you do your part as well.
Been retired for 10 years. Live like a king on my ranch. Putting my daughter through med school, just gifted her and her husband a house on a country club, don't owe a penny. Have a second home on south Padre island, liquidated most of my 40 properties and enjoy life. I don't mind the dust. My wife is a UT grad, wasn't for her, she came back to the dust bowl, too. It's not for everyone, but it's been good to me. You sound very bitter. Life is what you make of it, sounds like you got a long way to go. Sorry, hopefully things will look up for you.

I dont expect us to win it all

Im just excited we saw holes in free agency and addressed it and got a stud in the draft

I fully expect anywhere from 8-9 to 12-5

No more than a wild card win
I don't even think that far ahead anymore. I just try to enjoy week to week. It's only when we get our hopes up that they can be dashed.

If you just enjoy each game with no strings attached, then it's OK to beat the lowly Giants in overtime like we did last year. That was an exciting and fun game, but many here were handwringing over it because it obviously wasn't a good win for a team wanting to compete for a Super Bowl.

Those who want to believe we have a chance to win it all are welcome to it. Right now, I just want to beat the Giants in Week 1. If we do that, I'll enjoy the win instead of wondering what it means for our season success.

Damn, I guess the dolphins, chargers, bears, jets no longer have" Real fans." They must all be dead by now?
All of those teams except the Dolphins have been to at least a championship game in the 21st Century. Only the Browns and Dolphins have gone longer than Dallas without a CCG appearance. Are you sure this is the brag you want?

the Jones Boys apologists contort themselves in such a pathetically amusing way, don't they?

They never had the sustained run of excellence that we had though. Completely different level of expectations.
Thats because so many of you arent smart enough to understand what the salary cap has done to the competitiveness of the league.

I do not remember making it to the Conference Championship game.
and each of those teams had serious weaknesses in defense that would have seen our butts kicked.
but I guess some people think fools gold is real
shut up.Had demarco not got caught by an 80 year old lineman and fumbled we would have been in Seattle the following week. And unlike you, I remember, because I was there when that 2014 team went into seattle and smacked the seahawks in the face. So dont tell me we had no chance.

the goal posts are always moved. I dont give one damn about a conference title game. Ive watched my team win 4 sb in my time as a fan. I hope we win more. But for some strange reason, like 95 % of the teams still havent caught up. why is tat? winning a sb is damn easy.

We are finally going into a season where there is reason to believe we have a chance of winning it all. The pieces are now in place to pull it off. For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason. It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels. And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career. Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength. Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment. Not life and death. It's meant to be fun. And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.
Excited?
Yes!
Parker continues to assemble a credible rabble and our O, except for tackles, seems formidable.

Right now I'm not feeling it. By week one, I'm all in, until I'm not.
