To true fellow Cowboy fans. it's OK to be excited

I get it. The bright side for me was i moved past an obsessive behavior towards the Cowboys. There was a period of time that I would scroll this site no less than once every hour of every day that I was awake (my familycan attest to this)...year round. Had they been more successful over the past 30 years, who knows I might have kept up that unhealthy practice. Now, I can just check in time to time...just to see what's happening, watch the games and be happy when they win, sad when they lose but ready to move on back to real life after the game is over.
We're in the same boat.
We might need a bigger one if we can't turn things around soon! :)

This entire thread is case in point for why there had to be a tutorial thread for how to use the ignore feature.

Maybe try something called “agree to disagree?”

Not everyone has to think alike, and many times both point and counterpoint can both be true.

In the end, we are fans of this team. We will never not root for them. Its just pay of who we are. Im ok with that. My life is great. Winning or losing a super bowl doesn't add or detract from that.
It wouldn't hurt!

A temporary influx of endorphins...if nothing else. :)

I was very much against the ignore feature for a long time. I don’t want to hear from only those that agree with me. I’ve learned plenty by reading what others contribute.

Couple of years ago I changed it up a bit, and I’ve gotta say it’s been a much better experience. It’s probably well-designed trolling that you want to bite at…unless you physically can’t see it. You’d be surprised at how much less it bothers you.

Only two. You know who.

If nothing else...it has provided some insight from individual members. I ahev found a few ..spirit brothers...I didn't know I had.

Also who is sane about our state of affairs at this moment, and how we treat fellow fans.

This is my philosophy as well. I think I've only used the ignore on one guy. The guy that writes Ai regurgitated BOOKS for posts. Forgot who it is. Overall the whole point of discussion is to talk about opposing and like views. It can be very difficult not to name-call/pick sometimes but I try to choose my words very carefully. LOL

We are finally going into a season where there is reason to believe we have a chance of winning it all. The pieces are now in place to pull it off. For all the years Jerry has held us back, you can finally give him a smidge of credit for what he did this offseason. It started with the trade of Parsons that put us a position to completely revamp the defense. Not just revamp - but improve exponentially at all levels. And despite what some morons continue to say here, we have an outstanding QB who likely plays the best season of his career. Offense will be dominant. Defense goes from being a complete liability to a strength. Of course, everyone knows that regardless of talent, certain things must go your way to win it all - but the fact is, we have a roster capable of pulling it off.

And again, in the big picture it's entertainment. Not life and death. It's meant to be fun. And for the first time in a long time, you have a team you can be proud of and have fun supporting.
This is a big pile of mush. On the one hand, you're not a "true fan" if you don't fawn and scrape at Jerry's feet over finally trying to compete. And on the other...results don't matter...it's only for entertainment...which is exactly THE REASON for Jerry's frustrating ineptitude.

Sorry, as much I would love to hold hands and jump off the cliff with you lemmings, I won't.

Same here. I don't mind disgareement. But not gonna let anyone incessantly run things into the ground either.

Thank to @Bobhaze (and @DallasEast too, I believe) for privately enouraging me to use it. It's made my life, and theirs! much better here.

I've only received one warning in 2 years now. You should see my mail before that!

I was trying to suss that out...good job!

Dak's highest QB rating was in 2023. His second highest was his rookie year. My point was how did the poster come to that conclusion? He refers to others who speculate as morons yet he does the same thing. I hope you understand my point. Secondly, QB ratings aside, what has Dak won over the past ten years to warrant "his best season ever?"
He has to win a ring in order to have his best year ever? Maybe I’m misunderstanding you…

some people always fall for the same snake oil salesmen again and again
Then go root for another team. Why even waste your time?

You Jerry bashers are hot stuff.

Did Jerry tell Patrick Crayton to drop the ball?

Did Jerry tell Romo and crew to go to Cabo?

Did Jerry tell Romo to drop the field goal hold?

Did Jerry spot the ball wrong?

It was pertinent back in the day and it still applies.

Why even bother watching a team of a man you dislike so much?

Really? That's where you want to go? OK.

No, it's because many of us ARE smart enough to understand the entire two decade Patriots dynasty occurred during the cap era. Many of us ARE smart enough to see other teams loading & reloading and winning multiple championships within short windows.

Only real numbnuts think a three decade failure to even get to a conference championship can be erased by some flowery pre-season talk. The smart ones have long ago given up on talk. Results are all that matter.
You see them as smart, I see them as miserable.
