If he was there I'd take him. He could be the new short yardage guy at least on day one. He's a true bruiser who can carry the load.

and who do we cut, cos we sure as hell aren't carrying 4 RB's on our roster with him, Jones, Choice and Barber????

Not gonna happen. We should leave RB well alone. Too many holes elsewhere.

my brothers coworkers sisters uncles niece told me that we were trading one of our backs..I guess you didnt get that memo..so there you have it, there will be room for Toby

I like him, but just see too many other areas that I'd rather address. Plus, as already pointed out, who do you cut?

Remember that Gerhert wants to be a featured back...and for sure not a fullback or even a 6-7 carry guy.

No way. I am a Pac 10 homer, like the kid, and wouldn't take him. If we take a runner from the Pac 10 it better be Legarrette Blount. He is a bull. Gerhart is slow turning the corner. Has good instincts, but is just too slow.

I really really like him as a RB, but Im doubtful he will be able to do it in the NFL

Gerhart, for me, would be completely based on how well he could catch he ball out of the backfield, how well he could lead block and how well he could pick up the Blitz. He's never going to see time as a Halfback but as a Fullback, perhaps.

Other then that, I agree with Hos.

No thanks. If you're on the "cut Barber" crew, you'll be screaming for this guy to be gone by the time the rookie OTAs start. He's a much less athletic, much slower version of Marion Barber that excelled against mediocre-to-poor west coast defenses.

Gerhart is twice the back Blount is. Gerhart ran a 4.55 and had 22 bench reps at the combine while Blount ran ran a 4.73 and had 19 reps. I don't see where speed becomes an issue for two between the tackle runners anyways. I'll agree that Dallas doesn't need a back though. Neither kid above could beat out any of the backs on our current roster.

I tend to agree, Buffett... Plus Blount is a knucklehead.

I really like Gerhart. If we didn't have Barber, he'd be a good fit as that power back IMO.

I was posting once before that in looking back at his other stops, Wade has seemed to like 230+ backs... Hmm.

Nah, I know it won't happen.

I actually like Blount too, and he really was a fairly clean kid until the sucker punch. Gerhart just reminds me so much of Jerome Bettis. One of those big power backs that is only suppose to be a goal line runner, but ends up with 1200 yards at the end of the season. I wouldn't mind he or Blount in Dallas, but I just don't see how it's possible to draft a back when you need an OT, OG, C, NT, DE, S, and CB worse.
