Today in Cowboys history - January 2, 1994

The following shows all players in NFL history who have a combined: 1) 32 or more carries and 2) 10 or more receptions in a game.

Emmitt Smith

Bonus trivia: Smith was a perfect 10-for-10 in receiving attempts--WITH that bum shoulder.

Hall of Famer.

Legend of the game.

I remember watching this, a bunch of snow dumped on the DMV. Start of the 4th quarter my GF's mom calls my house and tells my mother that my GF's brother got in a car accident due to the icy roads. I was in the dog house for months because I wouldn't take her to the hospital until after the game.

Even more impressive--this was on that old Astro turf. Basically a driving range mat placed over a concrete slab.

Can't imagine the pain he dealt with.
Physical ability and toughness is one thing, and he showed it.
But to me, the most impressive thing is the mental toughness that had to take, to literally will yourself into a state where you could perform in that kind of duress.

Heart of a damn lion. Love that dude. Warrior.

Lose that game and the Cowboys don't make it to the Super Bowl.

"Emmitt Smith is a luxury, not a necessity"

Jerry Jones said that in September when Emmitt was holding out. The Cowboys went from 0-2 to the division title after the "Emmitt" game and then to the Super Bowl championship where Emmitt was the MVP.

"Emmitt Smith is a luxury, not a necessity"

That statement is the epitome of Jerry Jones's credibility as an analyst of NFL talent.

I remember watching this and then after my Mom took me to the movies with her because she wanted to watch Mrs. Doubtfire.

This story is certainly worthy of a "like".

Was he in serious/critical condition? Or just a few bumps and bruises and a checkup?

Also--did your GF have a car? If so, why didn't she just drive herself there?

These details matter if we are to properly assess if you are a scoundrel or not......
