Today is a test on whether the Cowboys are for real or not

I disagree. I do not think that a loss here means we are not for real. Seattle is a difficult place to play and not to many teams win there lately. On neutral ground I think we stand a better chance but in Seattle its a whole different ball game. Like I said though I do not see a loss today as meaning we are not for real as long as we dont get blown out.

I don't think a lose means we aren't for real either ..... I also think we will win ..... all I meant was the Seahawks are one of the best teams in the league and it will give us a true measure of where we truly are at this point .....

So if they lose, you are jumping off the bandwagon because they are not real? Every game is a test. How you respond after wins, losses, at home, on the road, after bye weeks, etc are more indicative of a team being real or not.

in 45 years I haven't jumped off ..... so ..... don't think a lose today would change that .....

Agree. A loss doesn't really mean much. A win at their place would indicate that the Cowboys are better than most people believe, but a loss doesn't mean anything relative to the other teams in the Cowboys division.

my point with this post ..... ONLY point .....

San Francisco has gotten blown out in Seattle early last year. Packers got blown out in game one this year. Nobody is going to say these teams aren't for real. I hope we at least see a competitive game today. Not expecting a win and while at 4-1 I'm not happy with moral victories, a close game won't make me disappointed.

If they can hang with Seahawks at Seattle and not get blown out, that's a good answer, imo

The most important thing about this game is that Seattle is an NFC team. So it is a tier up from being the least meaningful type of regular season game you can play (non-conference). You want to win them all, but a division game is always more important.

today is a true test to see if our five time Super Bowl Champion Dallas "America's Team" Cowboys are for real or not ..... im like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to open presents .....

I don't think so. The fact is we are not super bowl contenders and they are. We are still in the middle of our rebuilding and have holes to fill. Just because we lose today doesn't mean we aren't for real either.

It is not a make or break game for the team.....it is for the pundits, naysayers (i.e. SAS ) and our pride as fans.....but certainly a loss will not spoil the season. Just as a win will not guarantee even the NFCE. But I will say that it is a gut check for this team, are you willing to put your ego aside and play as a team? One thing it can do is validate this OL, even though I still think we need to upgrade Free eventually. I'm just going to try to enjoy the game and see if Garrett is up to it as well. GO COWBOYS. :flagwave:

As far as records and ability to make the playoffs, etc. go, today's game really doesn't mean a whole lot.
However. As it relates to the team psyche. It could mean quite a bit. Go in and win. Or even just go in and play them toe to toe for most of the game and lose. This team will come out of Seattle with even more confidence. Something I think previous Cowboy teams have missed the most. Lose big today. And the oh no, Are we the same team of the last three years type of doubts could start creeping back in. Suddenly next week becomes an even bigger game then just your typical divisional match up.

At least that's how this amateur psychiatrist sees it. :)

If we win this game it will be a great victory. If we lose against what is probably the best team in the league playing at home, well...we know we're not at that level yet, so no biggie.

Every game is a test, clearly this is a big test for Dallas. I think all teams when facing a top team and in this case a SB winning team want to know how they stack up. Win or lose this is not the SB and results in a week 6 game will not determine the remainder of your season but I think for players this is a big test of who they are as a team right now

What some fail to realize is we can win today's game ... Then we can lose 3 straight and end up at 5-4 ... Or we can lose today's game and win 2 of the next 3 and still be 5-4... Of course if 2 of 4 of those wins are against NFC east opponents were much better off ... Obviously our goal would be to win today and then the next 13 straight ....
Win,lose or draw today .. Just another game ..no moral victory .. No test of team strength , heart or character (except to the pundits and mediots ..)
Go Cowboys
