This is the day he said he'd make his decision . . .

I think he'd be a fool to not go pro, from a financial standpoint. But then again he's smart enough to realize that this is the best years of his life in college, and I could respect his decision to stay in and enjoy it/be young.

Money isn't everything to everyone.

But if he declares . . . that will shake up the top 10 considerably.

I also read on another board that Rod Wright is considering declaring since Texas is losing their DC . . .

I'd love to see him enter as well!

The way I see it is an education is for making money. He's set in that department.

Now, he needs to look at what benefit staying another year would bring. I see the chances of him losing ground more than gaining it (injuries, losses, etc..).

He'd be crazy not to jump in now, especially with a so-so crop of QBs coming in this year.

JMHO.

I would not fault him either way. Pro football is a bussiness and college it is still a game. If all that matters is the money then he should go for it but if he enjoys the college life and all that goes with that then stay

Well, from a biased Dallas Cowboys perspective, I hope he goes Pro . . . .

Same for R. Wright.

If I were a betting man, I'd guess he goes pro. (Now watch him stay in college!)

I won't be shocked if he stays. Some friends of mine at SC have talked to some of the guys on the team stating that Matt loves his situation at school. He's basically worshipped SC. But from a money standpoint...i think he's got to go pro. Sure college is a once in a lifetime experiance...but hey, so is going #1 in the NFL Draft. If he gets seriously hurt next year (which EVERYONE will be gunning at him), he can kiss his NFL dreams goodbye.

We desperately need Leinhart and Wright to declare...then hopefully it will push MW, BE, DJ down our way...

That nonsense is exactly what is wrong with the education system.

My understanding of the Wright situation is his family is ready to cash in and he was always going to declare when his 3 years came due. Mack is a great salesman and have tried convincing the folks that Rod will be the top overall pick by coming back and playing a full season of healthy ball.

I don't know what to think about USC QBs as Palmer has been pretty good but not earth-shattering and he has much better measurables than Matt. I'd love for him to enter just to toss another pick our way though.

I just heard on ESPN radio that Leinhart has decided to wait until Friday to make his final decision instead of today.

I think Leinart should declare for the draft. He's accomplished EVERYTHING a college QB could wish for. If SF picks him #1, he won't even have to move from his home state.

I mean....damn!

I suspect he comes out. Hes done everything he can do in college. Unlike Peyton Manning, I think he can hurt his stock next year if he doesn't have a stellar season. When Manning returned I think he would have had to have a serious injury to no go #1 overall the next year. I can see the situation where Lienhart can have a decent season next year and not go as the top pick.

I think this means he has made the decision to come out. All of this last minute delay to announce you are NOT doing anything doesn't make sense. I would imagine that he wanted some people there at the announcment that couldn't get there till Friday. I think he is a lock to come out now. He would be an idiot to stay.
