Today our education system failed... drastically

To the people remembering 4 quarters in a game or quarter after 12 on a clock as 4 quarters in a dollar, isn't it just easier to think of it as quarter as in 1/4th? I mean, that's where the quarter actually comes from. Like there are 2 halves in a whole, or 4 quarters.

I got one . Several guys from my area meet up on occasion and shoot the bull . The subject came up that one of the ladies in our community had been acting strange . One guy hinted that the women's behaviour might be caused by menopause . One of the othe guys replied that his father had went through menopause and it come close to killing him . He stated that his father really had a hard time getting over his case of menopause . Yes, he is an idiot , but he is our idiot .

I went through menopause, ... it was my wife's menopause, but trust me, I went through it.

I thought a quarter was two bits.

An educated fool:

Many of you here are aware that I am latino.
My voracious hunger for knowledge has led me into learning all things history, world history to be exact.
One day, this college educated fool approached me wondering why my favorite historical figure was a white man(Sir Winston Churchill) and not one of latino roots. He's mexican...well sort of.
I told him things were that way because I see no point to marginalize my preferences based on race.He replied "well Churchill was a "C" student.

The day of this conversation believe it or not was May 5th 2009(Cinco de Mayo).
I asked him,"hey,it's Cinco de Mayo, what happened today in Mexico's history?"

His response?....Independence Day!
My response?..."Wrong,that day is Sept. 16th.,stop taking history lessons from Corona commercials,Mr. "A" straight student".

The same guy who chided me for liking Churchill over any other latino does not speak spanish.

I always thought you should have a Mexican wrestler for your avatar. Where is your ethnic pride? :laugh1:

When I was still teaching in college (anthropology), I used to give geography quizzes so that students can see where the various culture groups we talk about were located. I got tired of students complaining about how knowing world geography was irrelevant to their lives. They claimed that knowing US geography was adequate and that they've already taken classes on it in high school.

One day i walked in class with a blank map of the US showing state boundaries. I asked them to fill it out by writing as many state names on it as they can. Out of 45 students only 6 correctly identified more than 20 states. On average, students were able to correctly identify 7 states on the map.

:laugh2: I'm Canadain and I can get 25 states.

I think I got you guys beat......

I use to know a guy who worked part time with me at a swimming pool as a lifeguard. Some girls came in, and another lifeguard mentioned that they were from England. One of the lifegurads asked us, "do you think they speak English?"

well do they? Get a guy from London going and you can't understand half of what they are talking about.

I understand the guy I worked with from Pakistan better than some of the british

When I lived in England I heard the saying many times that Americans and English share many things except the language, meaning we're both speaking English but it isn't the same English.

My wife and I were eating Chinese food and she was enjoying the food very much. She said, "I think I can eat Chinese food every day. Do you think it's possible to eat Chinese food every day?" I told her to ask the 1 billion Chinese people if they can eat Chinese food that often.

My wife didn't get what I was saying.

No excuse for anyone after doing this for a while.

http://jimspages.com/States.htm

I can name all 50 and place them where they go one at a time thanks to this site.

And it's fun.
I tried that. I had a problem with Idaho since there were no states around it. My average miss was 2 miles and I finished in 475 seconds. Had I known it was timed I could have gone a lot faster.

CZ had this poster named Nors.................end of story
