The day before the kickoff of the Cowboys season I am optimistic! Not because I'm not aware that our defense is expected to be toward the bottom of the league, or that I'm unaware that Romo is the wrong twist from being out for substantial amounts of time. But because until you play the games nobody really knows how this current crop of men that are wearing the star will respond to these and other challenges. I choose to believe that it will be in a way that surprises many. I am 47 years old and I have been Cowboy fan as long as I can remember and I will be until I die!

So with all of the knowledge of the many reasons why people aren't expecting much from us, I'm excited to see these guys go out and play the games!! I am a Cowboy fan and I have seen the glory years of Tom Landry, Jimmy, and the lean years as well but throughout it all, I'm wearing the star and riding the emotional roller coaster with my fellow fans and players.

Here is to a successful season no matter what the journey looks like :)

There's no victory like a moral one. I am continuously victorious over my morals. DoctorChicken - 97/Morals - 0

Of course, we're usually optimistic before the season begins. Then we get beat down. Like a man/woman in a bad relationship but they keep coming back for more. We just keep being optimistic all over again the next season and giving them another chance. (note - I put a man in there for the ladies on the forum, not some kinky three-way, so get your minds out of the gutter; there's not room for both of us in there. Small gutter, big fantasies.)

I look at this team and see a bunch of guys giving their best. Their best isn't very good, but they don't quit, and neither do I.

How can it be a moral victory if we haven't played yet. I'd find more optimism for the Cowboys at the Skins board :-(

Hey any given Sunday anybody can win, I feel ya man. I'm not counting us out just yet. Stay away from those evil Commanders though...

This kind of thinking led me to make a bet to dress in drag at work (I work in a club) if we go 8-8 or worse.

Even cowboy fans that I know are rooting for me to lose. I'm hoping that the Boys have my back......praying.

I'm sure I speak for many a cowboy fan that does not want to see that either :)

I admire the people that can have an optimistic view. I really do; there is no sarcasm here.
I never try to change their view, just like I don't need anyone trying to change mine.
But a tip of the cap to you people that believe there is hope for this team.

Joe Namath just said it ... "If you think you can, you won't ... if you believe you can, you will." I Love it.

Ha! I replied to the wrong post...

See what going to that board does to you?
Instant retardation...

Trust me I don't want to see it either, but plenty of others do as the owner wants to publicize it for the club if I lose the bet.

Have any female friends/relatives your size? You will have to borrow clothes, won't you? ;)

There are literally people lined up to buy the clothes for me to wear and put the makeup on.

A while after I said we are undefeated, I got taken to the mat by a girl saying about the bet, 'you don't have faith in your team?!?'

The rest is history, now I might be wearing a dress.
