Hopefully all the fans out on the window ledges have come back to safety at this point. Yesterday was one of the most brutal games I’ve seen in years so everyone needs a ray of sunshine today.

At DT, Malik Collins has clearly improved, Paea is playing well and Tyrone Crawford looks solid while rotating in as a backup. When David Irving comes back in two weeks, this could also be a position of strength.

So what is the ray of sunshine? Demarcus Lawrence is playing very well but more importantly, he is doing it at LDE where he has to face more double teams and TE chips. So there is a real opportunity for a RDE to establish themselves on this team.

The good news is we have four candidates, each of whom have the physical ability to hit double digits in sacks. Tapper and Taco are essentially rookies but clearly have the talent. Both will improve over the course of the season. Damontre Moore comes back this week and could make an impact. Mayowa is the guy I would put last on this list and he had 6 sacks last season.

So your ray of sunshine for today is that the chances are good we will get double digit sacks out of the RDE position from some combination of the four candidates I just mentioned.

Are you saying that combined we could get double digit sacks from the RDE position or are you saying that each guy has the potential to be a double digit sack guy by themselves?

I like your effort her. DLaw is looking focused. However, the run defense was atrocious on the dline and not sure Moore and Irving can help that interior.

That said. The positive is, its one game and maybe this is just an anomaly. It is hard to get physically whipped at every level and chalk that up to "it happens." but it was in Denver, young and hurt secondary, weird game all over. The other positive, if it is an anomaly, best to have it happen to an AFC opponent on the road and still be tied for the division lead

Yup, I think the biggest problem with the DL yesterday was that the entire defense was missing tackles like never before.

Its also pretty much a guaranteed loss when you have two guys in Lewis and Woods that have never played a down in the NFL and end up as the 2nd CB and slot CB for most of the game. Weird game and a horrible loss, but I do think the trend line on the DE position is pointing up.

He will be franchise tagged or resigned.

No way Dallas lets a double digit sack player in his 20s walk. Not a chance.

Right now we're getting nothing out of the RE spot. It's like a 3 man line with Lawrence, Paea and Collins. Hope Moore changes things.

I won't be ready for a positive ray of sunshine until at least Wednesday this week.

The Broncos needed that win far more than the Cowboys did. I'll be honest, I was happy to see the NFC east plays the AFC west this season... I bet the other NFC east teams fair no better than the Cowboys did on Sunday. The AFC west is the best division in the league by far.
