If we spend a first round pick on Devin Thomas, I will be very pissed.

Why the hell would we be looking O-Line in the first? I don't even get why McShay would say that. We have a great O-Line plus we drafted two tackles last year.
You can never have to may O-line guys but I dont know about first round. Really anywhere inside the third

Because Flo isn't here forever and this is the deepest OT draft in history.

Yes, last year we took OTs in round 3 and 4, but neither was a complete player... one could run block and one could pass block.

Plus Columbo is merely an average RT.

Didn't know this was true. Knew it was for RBs, but not OTs.

...and if it is true, why would we be looking at OT in the first?

I wonder if Stewart having surgery today might mean he will be there at pick #28 now. It's a 4-6 month rehab and even though it's not the end of the world you know it will scare some teams off. With a deep RB class we could luck out possibly and have Stewart at #28 you never know.
:starspin

I've never been big on us taking Stewart cause I figured he'd be gone by #28, but after hearning he had the surgery, he's now the guy I want at 28. Hopefully Seattle decides to not take a RB.

That will mean Julius Jones did more for us in Seattle than he ever did for us while here :)

That could very well happen. Many teams would be nervous drafting a 1st rounder who would be out several months going into training camp.....IF Stewart is there at #28, we have to take him!

Agree.
We have possibly 3 candidates to start at right tackle if we can not resign Columbo next year.
