Tolbert makes the list

Pretty sure the addition of Pickens, will prevent him from getting any significant time at WR.

Not very many 5'9, 152 pound WR's in the NFL for a reason.
I think you will see packages every game where Lamb and Pickens are outside and Turpin will run from the slot or from motion. If they stay healthy, I think we see Lamb (s), Pickens and Mingo sometimes and Lamb, Pickens, and Turpin (s) sometimes. Barring injury, I believe it's Tolbert, Brooks, Fournoy, and others who will struggle to see the field, as it should be.

I will be surprised if Tolbert gets a 2nd contract. IMO it is possible he will not remain with the team to the end of his rookie contract. He is expendable until he proves to be more consistent.

His size is his size, but ill say it again the dude has a crazy score per touch and he has had it through every league he has ever played in. If i were the coach i would be trying to get the ball in his hands at least 10 times a game somehow.

Turpin will have a handful of plays going deep, if he can get off the line of scrimmage that is, and plays designed for him in space like WR screens. That is pretty much it. Less than 10 snaps a game on offense.

Tolbert has steadily improved.
If he somehow improves from last years number in any way, we're talking 750 yards and 8 TDs....that would be great for a WR 3

I think it will be challenging for him to exceed last years stats.

Not sure he will even get the same amount of targets as last year, with the addition of Pickens and hopefully our commitment to our improved running game.

With the new kick-off rule changes, Turpin will be even more valuable on the kick return team. I am fine with him playing a handful of plays on offense as a decoy to stretch the field or a designed play for him in space.

However he is too valuable to risk an injury on offense for anything more than that.

With Turpin and Aubrey's leg, we could easily be in FG range after the kickoff. Someone who can consistently flip the field, is a more valuable than most people understand.
I disagree. We may need to limit his snaps some, but I don't buy into risk that much. Players get hurt on practice fields doing practically nothing. If he's the best third receiver, then play him. The only real considerations when it comes to injuries are his size and wearing him down (so maybe don't put him out there quickly after he's just done a return).

Tolbert was often covered by safeties and even lbs. We had to scheme him open, even in the redzone. Tell me one play you saw from him that he made happen. The guy cannot separate...period. If he's open, he will catch the ball. Most of our receivers will do that. I didn't see him getting open; I didn't see him making contested catches over defenders with brute force or athletic ability; I didn't see him turn any short catches into big plays with YAC; I didn't see him block worth a darn either. He is the very definition of JAG! He played better when Cooks returned and he was the #3 guy only because we ran plays for him and schemed him open. At the end of this year, if he hasn't played like a beast, he will leave in free agency, and we will be lucky to get a 7th round pick for him.
I've not been a fan of Tolbert but we know the guy can bail out a long ball Dak quack of a pass. He actually did get separation here but our QB couldn't take advantage and almost lost it completely if not for Tolbert's effort. This was 1 of 2 of Dak's completions 30+ yards from the LOS in his 8 games last season. Tolbert gets props for this and his hustle for tracking down a fumble or something. Much better as a #3, not a 2 for sure.

No one's saying significant. We're saying don't baby him if he can get you production on offense.

Yeah Tolbert has a role on an NFL offense, the issue is simply hes not well rounded enough for a full time one. Hes a guy that can give you production running a limited vertical route tree. He can absolutely win you some deep contested catches, and does very well on those comeback routes. Thats about the extent of what he does at an average or better level though.
