I think Tom Brady is on to something here.
In all sports, injuries are so much more prevalent these days. Yes, players are bigger and faster, but I think it has to a lot to do with the training they do to get their bodies to these conditions.
In effect, they've built themselves into highly tuned Lamborghinis instead of tough, reliable pickup trucks. They perform better, but they break easier.
ACL tears and hamstring pulls were far less common 30+ years ago. Guys got hurt, but not with this much regularity.
