Cowboys assistant director of player personnel (aka director of college and pro scouting) since 1992 is one of the candidates for the Colts GM job and will interview today.

IRVING, Texas – While some wonder if the Cowboys could lose Rob Ryan and/or Joe DeCamillis from their coaching staff to head coaching jobs elsewhere, they might also need to look at the player personnel staff, too.

According to multiple sources, Indianapolis has requested permission to speak with assistant director of player personnel Tom Ciskowski for its general manager vacancy. The Colts are looking for a personnel chief after firing Bill Polian and his son, Chris.

Totally honest, I would not be sad to see him go. I have been saying we need a shake up in our pro and college scouting departments for a while.

And the 'off season' already has become knee deep in serious...but one can't root against a person bettering his position. And Jerry rarely does either.

Yikes... People wanting to hire away one of Jerry's true football men?

Pay him Jerry... Maybe this will help convince Jerry to listen to him even more.

I don't know. I think our last two drafts and UDFA classes have been an improvement.

The thing with Jerry is you never know if the information he's getting from the scouts is flawed or if he's tuning out that information and not following their recommendations.

Who do you think will replace him or them?

Wait, I thought you were part of the old 'the real talent made it to Miami' bunch, before Jerry had to again circle the wagons. But you probably blame the leap year on Jerry as well.

Terribly I can see Walter Juliff being promoted if Tom gets the Colts job

We could step in line to interview the Ravens' Eric DeCosta along with the Colts, Bears and Rams (Raiders are out since they got McKenzie).

We need outside blood. This repetitive carryover for the last 20 plus years from our staff to coaches has to change.

Problem here is no hot GM candidate worth their resume is going to want to here and work second fiddle to an amateur like Jerry Jones.

Jerry never listens to anybody, including Tom, so he might as well go to a team where they will listen and value his input......I expect this is one of a few that will jump a sinking ship from the scouting department..

UGH.

This is the man that Jerry should be letting be our GM. We're going to STRUGGLE if we let Tom go.

With the East/West and Senior Bowls aready coming up, the scouting roles in the field are probably already well directed and directions in process for a conclusion on a continuous standard up and through the Combine. The departure of Ciscowski should have little current effect, if he does. As to transitioning, the system is already in place for the immediate future.
