I don't know if I could live there. I would be wishing the walls could talk and then be disappointed when they don't.
Are you not an American? More, more more, bigger is better.
It's nice but even if I had the money its WAY to much house for me.
I just don't understand the need for all that. That one picture was a room with a freaking sectional type couch in the middle of the room and...what? So it's just a spare room to sit on a sectional and just hang out? Like what the hell does anyone need another room for that? That's what the dang living room is for.
I guess I'm just weird but that just seems like a silly expense for something completely unneeded.
Because when you threw your house warming party and invited everyone on this forum we would all need somewhere to stand
lol. Yeah I'm an American but I don't believe in that creed to be totally honest with you. It's stupid and wasteful, IMO. I could be using all that extra money dropped on dumb *** stuff like that to travel the world, see places I haven't seen, and enjoy life outside of a house and some cars.
That's just me though. I'm happy with a lot more modest and simple houses and cars.
Maybe you just don't have enough money because you don't always have to choose between nice things and traveling like so many online I've saw say/post.lol. Yep, anything in Preston Hollow is super expensive. It's not quite Highland Park but it's close. It's listed at $312 per sqft which is probably about normal for that area if the updates are high quality. The 0.37 acres is a good size lot.I was ready to pack our stuff until I saw the price, lol!!!
The higher end suburbs here North of Dallas have generally been under $100 per sqft for a long time. The're now climbing up to the $125 to $150 range but that's still low compared to California. It always amazes me how much of a house you can buy in the Mid West compared to out where I live.

Even the high end area like Highland Park in the middle of Dallas which is probably often in the $1000 per sqft still does not compare to many areas in California.
The "catch" is that property taxes in Texas are very high. They are generally 1/3 of your mortgage payment. About 12K for a 400K house.

If you're truly happy with modest things cool but almost everybody I see online tries to make it an either or thing when it's not always the case.

I hear you. Personally I like materialistic "junk" lol. That's what the money is here for material stuff and the stuff your into also. That's fair enough as well.
I'm saying if I could afford something like that house then yeah I could afford to travel too if I wanted to and I'd still choose a far more modest house and travel even more.
I'm just not materialistic in any manner. I don't buy the high dollar name brand clothing. I do a lot of shopping off a Walmart rack. I could buy more expensive....but why? I just don't care about junk like that.
Money is far more fun when you use it for truly fun things like trips, and travel, and doing fun stuff with friends and family. The materialistic junk is just that, junk.
