If JJ in their pitch to bring the 2011 SB to north Texas.
If they reveal the stadium naming as Tom Landry Stadium. Will that go a long way with the owners. would that clinch it?

Jerry is not going to pass on millions of endorsement dollars. Not being rude or mean here but people need to get that idea out of their heads.

If Tom Landry Stadium is going to be the name it will be something like...Pepsi Field at tom landry stadium or Pepsi stadium at Tom Landry field. Not saying it will be pepsi, just using that for the example.

Like the idea. . . Might end up being "Blockbuster Field at Tom Landry Stadium" or something.

Don't think the other owners would truly care or not. What's in it for them???

I agree, there is too much money at stake and Jerry is not going to get sentimental when it comes to millions of dollars on a project that is costing him a pretty penny right now

Tom Landry probably won't be included in the name in any way.

My guess is [Dr Pepper or whatever] Field at Texas Stadium.... or something like that.

You nailed it exactly.

Right. I thought about adding that scenario to it. But just by getting Tom Landy in there somehow, would go a long way. They could reveal it as Tom's name involved, but no sponsor agreement yet.

Why would it? What allegiance to Tom Landry do the other 31 owners have?

Why would the owners be swayed by the name of a coach that for the most part whooped their ***es all the time? I think it may be a hinderance!! LOL :laugh2:

The history and what he meant to the NFL. On the surface one would think it means nothing. Inside, kind of like a subliminal message, it may sway a few owners' vote. Plant the seed in the mind, let it grow.

That would suit me just fine...

What allegiance do ANY of the 32 owners have is a better question.

This stadium will without a doubt have a superbowl played in it. If Jerry doesn't get the bid for the year he is trying for, he'll get it another year.

Nice thought, but it probably wouldn't affect getting a superbowl at all.
