Another thing i loved about Tom was the way he kept the old school uniform number design up till the 80s.

Thanks for that, I didn't think anyone else noticed. That was my favorite number style for the Cowboy uniforms. Would be nice if they could bring those back for a throwback game, especially with the blue uniforms.

If I'm not mistaken Rafferty actually used the same Pre-1982 White Home Jersey with Alterations to preserve it from 1982-1989.He might have had a few in reserve to keep them in use.

Buck Buchanan,the Cowboys Equipment Manager was once asked about Rafferty's Jersey and said "I'm not going to be the guy to tell him he can't keep using it."

Cowboy old fart fan here with a great Rafferty memory. When Raff was a young guy in training camp, he used to love come into some veterans rooms and eat all their trail mix. So they replaced it with dog food and he didn’t notice! Thereafter he was known as “Ruff”!
