Tom Brady is doing things at age 44 that he’s never done before.

Brady has his 6th game this season with at least 4 TD passes, surpassing the 5 he had in 2007 for the most in a season in his career.

This is the 6th time in NFL history a QB has thrown for at least 4 TD passes 6 times in a season, with the other 5 all winning MVP; Rodgers 2020, Mahomes 2018, Peyton Manning 2013 and Marino 1984.

Two of Brady’s TD last week went to Gronk giving the pair 90 in the regular season careers that surpassed Rivers and Gates(89) for 2nd in NFL history . Only Manning and Harrison have more (112).

There is only one Tom Terrific. He wore #41 and played for the New York Mets. Brady tried to pilfer that name a few years ago and get it pattented but slithered back down when the New York fans and media gave him some serious grief. It is heresy to call any other Tom, "Tom Terrific". There was only one.

Didn’t mean to offend anyone . I copied it and the story from an Associated Press writer.

He is so fortunate to be playing in a time where the rules so favor the offense and QBs are so protected.

And he’s made the most of it. Much more than any others this era. And that’s really all you can be is great in your era.

Other eras had their advantages too with being able to stockpile talent on rosters for an entire career with limited free agency and no salary cap.

no offense. I am a little over the Tom Brady is the bestest wonderfulest, greatest, whatever you want to say. he could probably get the name "Mr Piggy Back" patented. that would be as appropriate as anything. Piggy backed on the greatest coach of our era, piggy backed on the great defenses BB put together, rode into Tampa with already with a top defense ala Jon Gruden and got a super bowl trophy., Yup, Mr Piggy Back....

He's easily the best QB to ever play, and I doubt there will be another who comes close. I don't care what circumstances he had, he still had to win and he did.

Its unprecedented in sports what he is doing not just in terms of longevity but also maintaining excellence. At Age 45, he is STILL the best QB in the NFL making the same throws he made 20 years ago. I've never seen anything like it in any sport as physically demanding as football. I'm think Jack Nicklaus winning the masters at age 46, I think. But golf is not as physically demanding. You can be great at golf for a long time into your 60's. But this is football!

If the Cowboys don't make it, I want it to be Tom's team against the Sith Lord in the SB.

I think most of the league wants a Tampa - NE super bowl. It might be the only game as big as a Cowboy super bowl in terms of ratings...... but its never going to happen b/c we have neither genius coaches nor consistently good QB play.

lets see:

QBs are wearing skirts like Lambert said they should be
The NFL makes it VERY hard to play real defense
I think that easily makes it a lot better for a QB today then back then.

Do you HONESTLY think he would be playing at 45 if he had started in the 60's?

HONESTLY?

George Blanda played until he was 48.

I’ve never understood why some fans can’t appreciate greatness. I guess cause they aren’t on their team or don't like them personally? IDK

Some of the greatest athletes in sports I didn’t like their teams , their personalities or off field behavior but I respected their abilities and achievements.

And when Brady is done that’s where he will be placed in history with some of the greatest like Nicklaus, Jordan, etc.

lol. Yeah, he lingered a long time barely playing the final 9 seasons. I looked it up. From 1967 to 1975, he threw a grand total of 235 passes. Not even close to same league as Brady.

No , but he was still winning some games in his 40’s which was quite a story during that time which disputes the notion you couldn’t play to an older age in that era.

Back in that era there just wasn’t enough money to play long careers. Big name stars could make more after retirement . Jim Brown retired after 9 years to be in movies in Hollywood. Lilly retired making only 80,000 a year in 1974. Staubach only 200,000 in 1980. Both made much more after retirement in business. Many many more examples.

He was basically handing the ball off. Players now could do that as well. Peyton Manning could have played until he was 50 handing the ball off and throwing short passes. The marvel of Brady is a combo of his age and the fact his physical ability to throw the ball have not diminished.

Just cannot admit you are wrong can you. Excuse after excuse after excuse. By the way Staubach flat out said why he was retiring and it was certainly not about money. But keep right on with your attempt at propaganda. Lilly had back problems and said that was why he was retiring. Jim Brown said he retired because he wanted to go out on top (but then his story has changed over time)
Show me one single incident where a player said he was retiring back then because he wanted to make more money doing something else.
I guess if you look REAL HARD you might find one. But you won't.
Trying to use Blanda is such a pathetic joke.

FACT IS that if Brady had started playing in the Mid 60's he is done by 35. The evidence is overwhelming. You try and find anyone but maybe a kicker lasting longer and to be blunt they are not really football players when you come right down to it.
But hey keep right on making us laugh.

You haven't explained the anomoly of Brady at all. Where are the other 45 year old QBs leading the league in just about every passing stat and winning super bowls? He's not lingering like Blanda. Trying to conjecture about what Brady would do in the 1960's is just silliness. You can't compare one era of the NFL to another.
