Tomlinson released!

I think Houston is perfect. As much as LT has fallen off, the man can still get in the end zone, and the Texans could sure use somebody better than Chris "oops I fumbled at the goaline again" Brown.

I think fans, and LT, are in for a big surprise. I expect very little interest in him.

He's not the quality RB who can take a team that's one piece away...he's not even a question mark...everyone knows he's done.

When Emmitt left Dallas, he left a terrible team with a weak offensive line and no QB or passing game. Therefore, teams like Arizona believed he might prosper with a playoff team.

LT did nothing with a team that was a super bowl favorite...he's done, and it's so easy to find a quality RB in the draft...I just don't see anyone paying him much more than the league minimum.

I hope he starts for the NYG. Plus then our defensive players get to hurt him up for even thinking of touching Emmitts records.

This being your only post in this thread is intriguing....

At one time I thought he had an outside chance to getting close to Emmitt. Now it's not very likely. Still he is #8 on the list for his career.

NFC East

Cowboys...no way.
Giants...don't see it.
Eagles...maybe.
Commanders...I would over Portis.

NFC North

Bears...no.
Lions...I think they ought to seriously consider it
Packers...no.
Vikings...hell no.

NFC South

Falcons...no.
Panthers...no.
Saints...Depends on if they resign Bush.
Buccaneers...He's better than anything they have.

NFC West

Cardinals...no.
Rams...no
49ers...no
Seahawks...Uh, he's miles better than Julius.

AFC East

Bills...Depends on whether they trust Lynch.
Dolphins...no.
Patriots...In a heartbeat.
Jets...no.

AFC North

Ravens...no.
Bengals...Intriguing, but no.
Browns...Goodness yes.
Steelers...no.

AFC South

Texans...Definitely a possibility.
Colts...Doubt it, but would love to see it.
Jaguars...no.
Titans...no.

AFC West

Broncos...Not out of the realm of possibility.
Chiefs...Also not impossible.
Raiders...no, even though he is better than anything they have.

LT will probably want to play for a contender, so I see the Pats and Texans as very strong possibilities (according to this list anyway). And for the same reasons, I wouldn't rule out a team like the Vikes. Sure they have Peterson, but I think he'd rather take on a reduced role and have a shot at the superbowl rather than taking on a more substantial role w/ a team that obviously needs a RB but has no shot at the playoffs (a team like the Browns).

On a side note, are the Saints considering cutting Bush? If so, I'd love Jerry to bring him in. Sure he's a less than average runner, but I think he can help us in so many other ways.

While I do not disagree with this assessment why on earth would Arizona have believed they were a playoff team when they signed him since they were coming off of a s 5-11 season in 2002 (their 4th straight losing season)?

Pats makes the most sense. They need a RB bad

Didn't he have a massive blowup at the end of a playoff game vs. the Pats? That would be a nice mending of fences should he end up there. The dollar cures a lot of ill will.

I dont think Dallas should consider bringing him in, but LT would be an upgrade over Barber

I would trade Barber for a middle round draft pick if I could find a buyer. The Cowboys would benefit from unloading the terrible contract they signed Barber to.

If Chester Taylor returns, then no way the Vikes would look at LT. But if Taylor leaves, then I guess never say never. Taylor is an excellent player though.

On ESPN radio I'm hearing New Orleans, Green Bay and Washington are the front runners.

Green Bay? Tomlinson would look disgusting in that uniform.

I still see New England swooping him up, and possibly New Orleans.

Why would New Orleans be interested? They already have Pierre Thomas.

They have a full backfield I understand. But for some reason they got listed. My guess is guys like Bell might be free agents or the FO might be interested in replacing them.
