I'm flying into Dallas today to spend Christmas with my family. I'd like to get some free time to roam around a bit, and thought some of you could help me out with a few questions.

1. Where to do last second shopping?

2. Where to get some good barbecue, or a thick steak.

3. Any good skate shops?

4. I'll have two or three days to wander...any must see, must do, type of things?

Mods, feel free to move. I'm just trying to get a response before I get on the plane. :)

Depends what part of town you'll be in. God help you for having to do last second shopping. But I'd say the Galleria.

Bobs steak and chop house $$$$, Del Friscos's $$$$$$ Texas Land and Cattle $
Barbecue? Try a place called Bakers Ribs

3. Any good skate shops? I have no idea. I've got a wife, two kids, and one ACL. I haven't skated in 15 years easy.

Thanks man. I'm more concerned with the bbq and the steaks than anything else...I can shop anywhere, I guess. I'll check out the Galleria though. The only other definitive plan I have is go to the new Stadium site and gets some pics.

The best steak i ever had was at Bob's Steak and Chop Shop.

Bob's is amazing, but pricey, take alot of coin or plastic with you.

Absolutely. It's very impressive even partially built. I had no idea just how mammoth this thing is going to be until I saw the first arch and it was only half way done when I was there in Sept. I was there last week and it is phenomenal.

Note taken, but my brother-in-law is loaded...I can put this on him. :)

I think a Cowboys fan has to try Randy White's BBQ.

I might just have too. Would it be a good place to take my nephews (9, 11, 14 years old)?

That is definitely one of my priorities. I'll take some pics and post them when I get back to virginia.

#2 Memphis TN not Dallas TX :D

lmao...I know all about Memphis bbq. ;) I take a yearly trip down there for a rugby tournament. Food and beer is not forgotten by ruggers, I guarantee.
I love that stuff.

I still need to get some Texas grub.

How close are they to being finished with the second arch?

Hey tomson75. Welcome back to Texas. My wife and I just flew in from Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon. Sure feels good my friend to come HOME for Christmas.

Enjoy your stay, and try and make the time slow down. Before ya know it, you'll be back on the plane and headin' back to where ya came from. Sighh!

Merry Christmas! :panthers:
