He didn't give up the catches, but his WR was behind him each time.

I agree.

He was beaten badly twice on deep passes. He may have got away with a PI on the first one.

Stock up:
Tony Romo...Ok, the season is still a long ways off, but he looks really good.
Felix Jones...Boy, was I wrong about him.
Newman....looked like he was healthy.
Junior Siaavi (however you spell it)
Kevin Ogletree....we may have struck gold with an undrafted WR again.

Stock down:
Nick Folk...two misses...plus, even his PATs seem to be moving around.
Special Teams in general....man, we still can't cover...but we make up for it by getting stupid penalties (couldn't resist the John McKay bit).

I also thought that Courtney Brown played better. I know he wasn't challenged a lot, but he was with his man and made some decent plays on the ball. I've also been pleased with the second string OL. I wouldn't want to count on those guys for long stretches...but they may do ok in a pinch.

Jenkins by his own admission is playing at only 80-85%, so people should cut him a little slack.

Its pretty obvious he has alot of skill, we're in great shape at CB.

I noticed nobody mentioned how good he looked on a couple of hits too.

I wasn't able to watch the first half, how did Spencer look?

Had some pressures. Solid vs the run. Nothing spectacular. Needs to do more.

And I'd put Ken Hamlin in the stock down category. Other than being a sideline cheerleader, I don't see a safety playing at the level of what he's being paid.

He really worries me. He's the one starter on D that I thought looked mediocre. Missed another easy open field tackle, was late getting over on a ball James helped break up, could have been a pick. Stupid face mask penalty on Titans TD drive negated an offensive holding penalty.

Stock up:

Terrence Newman- He looked very aggresive tackling and had good coverage.
Mike Jenkins- Made a great play on the deep ball. Granted if it was a good throw he would have been beat but it was nice to see a DB actually look for the ball. He also made a few nice tackles.
Felix Jones- Some nice runs and a great catch and run with two broken tackles
Tony Romo- Didn't make any bad throws and managed the game well. Showed nice touch on his passes and was accurate. I think we ran a very plain offense so the low YPC were due to the milk toast game plan. He and Roy looked in sync.
Offensive Line- Solid run blockers and for the most part kept Romo clean.
Ogletree- I think he made the team tonight. The route he ran on the goal line was awesome and the catch was great. He had the field presence to get the toes tapped as well.
Octavien- He seemed to be everywhere on defense. Nice batted ball that led to an INT.

Stock Down:

Gerald Sensenbaugh- All I have heard was how he was making plays but through two preseason games he has been pretty invisible. Bone headed penalty tonight as well.
McGee- Looked lost. I will give him credit for the last TD throw, although it was a tad short. DO NOT SLIDE 2 YARDS BEFORE THE 1ST DOWN!!
Pat Watkins- Time for Pat to be cut
Whoever muffed that punt.

Overall I think the team looked good. I was a little concerned that most of the time when Felix was in he was only a decoy. I hope we don't see that when it counts. :star:

Agree on Nick. What the Folk, man?

And don't forget the interception he flat-out dropped last week vs. Oakland.

I'm not seeing anything out of one of the league's highest-paid safeties.

Not worried about Folk, he's been kicking great in TC from all reports.

He nailed the upright on a 49yd FG...it wasnt like it was a gimmee.

Kicking is a confidence thing. Once he starts losing it, it's hard to get back. Maybe Beuhler is getting in his head?

Spencers nice against the run and in the flats

I dont see much in pass rush yet, but if he just bull rushes and gets near the QB he will get some of Demarcus' spill over

Mike Jenkins:

O.k. I went back and looked at the game log and compared it to what I saw.

If you toss out the play in the redzone, there were 5 passes directly at Jenkins in man coverage.

1. Bomb to Nate Washington - Jenkins won/Great coverage/play 0 yards
2. 3-8 Dallas 32 10 yard catch/1st down
3. 1-10 (next play) 5 yard catch
4. Bomb to Kenny Britt (line of scrimmage was Tenn 33, the ball was broken up by Jenkins at the Dallas 25.) That was a major league bomb. Young has a very strong arm. 0 yards
5. Bomb to Kenny Britt down the left sideline. Jenkins had him covered like a blanket.

That is 3 bombs thrown at him and Jenkins won all three. Those were the plays that mattered. Mike Jenkins stopped three bombs. I told you guys Tennessee would go deep, and they picked on Jenkins. Jenkins won the battle.

Again, if you grade him on a little curve, he gave up 15 yards in those 5 plays. Those were the man to man plays.

5 attempts for 15 bloody yards.

My math tells me that is 3.0 YPA.

So what was the throw? 50 yards? Thats way underthrown, most QB's max out around 65

So far Jenkins has had only mental errors imo

If he took a 7 step drop, it was about 57 yards.

The guy got behind Jenkins, but Jenkins caught him with that 4.38 speed. He's faster than Britt, and it showed on that play. While the ball hangs up in the air for that extra 8 yards you are talking about, Jenkins has more time to run him down. He caught him and didn't have the luxury of the ball going further and hanging up longer.

Three bombs and zero yards.

The only thing that matters is results, and Jenkins won.
