Dallas Cowboy quarterback, and Burlington native, Tony Romo, center and his girlfriend, singer Jessica Simpson, had dinner recently at Hernandez Mexican Restaurant in Delavan. They posed for photos with staff, including, from the left, Ruth Reyna, Gladys Corterz and Amber Wilcox.

DELAVAN -- After a day on the golf course, Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo figured Mexican food was just the thing to hit the spot.

The Burlington native was spotted in Hernandez Mexican Restaurant with his girlfriend, singer and actress Jessica Simpson, where they posed for photos and chatted with customers.

Romo was back home to compete with his dad in the Ray Fisher State Medal Play Golf Championship at Janesville's Riverside Golf Course.

Romo, who began the day Sunday four shots back, finished at 1-under, in a tie for 18th.

Hernandez is a favorite stop for Romo and Simpson. Raphael Hernandez Sr., is a longtime friend of Romo's grandfather.

Residents can expect to see more of Romo in the area the next few weeks. His annual football camp at Burlington High School is July 7-8, 2009.

Unbelievable.

Romo seems more concerned with free chips and salsa than he is with building chemistry with Roy Williams.

I was also wondering what quality of Mexican food they serve in Wisconsin. I bet it's just like here in Jersey. It's very traditional authentic Mexican food and not the TexMex we all know and love so much.

Since Romo is of Mexican decent, I'm sure he's had plenty of traditional and authentic Mexican food in his day.

Oh, and if I was Romo, when me and Jessica went to bed that night, under the covers, I would fart really BIG...and then spit up in the air so she would hide her head under the covers.

Take that, blondie...!!
