And he sounds really, really good. Like, the dude is supremely smart and funny and down to earth. I always liked him, since I'm a Sooners/Cowboys fan. As far as I know, today was the new station's very first day, and he already got Troy Aikman and Barry Switzer to call in as personal favors. Looking forward to listening to him every afternoon here in Oklahoma City.

Yep! It's called "The Franchise" on 107.7 FM. He is on from 3-7pm Monday-Friday.

Edit: What are you coming to OK for?

Who else is on there? Didn't they poach a bunch of guys from the Animal?

Yep, they sure did. They got Steely, Lump, and Rohde (he left the Oklahoman after all those years). Also got Sam Mayes, the former OSU Cowboy and Kelly Gregg, the former OU Sooner/Baltimore Raven. Here's the lineup:

“The Show” with Steely, Lump and Rohde (5:30-9 a.m.)

“The Mid-Day Mayes” with Sam Mayes (9-11 a.m.)

“The G-Men” with Kelly Gregg and Erik Gee (11 a.m.-3 p.m.)

“Casillas & Company” with Tony Casillas and David Garrett (3-7 p.m.)

Various local and NBC Sports programming (7 p.m.- 5:30 a.m.)

He's going up against the dominate duo and the total dominance hour.

Too bad they didn't take dean Blevins

I'll miss the fake bob stoops on the sooners pre game show

Which is pretty easy to go up against seeing how stale it's become. Traber and Eshbach are hard to listen to anymore. Having a strong signal and being the flagship station for OU football will help. 107.7 is the strongest signal in OKC area

Are we up to 6 stations for sports in central Ok? More spots for Friday high school football.

Is 1340 AM still going to do regular season Dallas games?

1340 and 1400 are basically the same station. One just has a bit better signal into OKC and 1400 does some different things like the Rams game(because Sam Bradford) and 1340 is the Dallas Cowboy affiliate. 1340 does a few more national things along with KREFs stuff in some time slots.

Is David Garrett the guy who did the radio broadcast with Dale Hansen for the Cowboys during the last Super Bowl winning season?

Hey thanks for the info I'll have to check it out. I love Traber and Eschbach but really tired of hearing about nothing but Manziel and the Sooners. Not a fan of the Sooners at all and Manziel has ran it's course. Excited to check out the new sports talk station.

There will still be a lot of OU talk as it'll be the flagship station for OU football. But there's also going to be more NFL centered stuff with Kelly Gregg being a decade+ year pro for Baltimore mostly, and Casillias playing all those years in the pros. But they both also were greats at OU.

What's amazing is how little he is now.

This dude was eating steroids morning, noon, and night.

I'm from Moore and I'll be visiting some friends/family. Also going to an engagement party my wife insists I have to go to.

Cool to see all the fellow Okies in here.

My sports allegiance goes something like: 1a. Dallas Cowboys 1b. OKC Thunder 3. OU Sooners. So hopefully this new station will talk more NFL than the Sports Animal. I believe they will. At the least, they'll KNOW way more about non-OU football sports than the guys at the Animal. It's tough listening to those guys try to talk NBA or NFL.

I haven't lived in OK since 07 but from what I remember the Animal was pretty bad as far as pro sports go. Can't wait to check out this new station. Thanks for the heads up!

LOL went to the damn station and for 30 minutes it was the Manziel half hour! Really liked what Sean Salisbury had to say about the ordeal though. At least it was a different angle taken when talking about the guy. Added the station to my radio...will be listening to it plenty.
