Welcome to Jerryland!

not with nfl game experience;
romo has only played 41 games with NFL game experience during the regular season;

whereas eli had 50 games from 2005 to end of 2007 season going into the playoffs

thats the big difference;

I didn't hear any of this crap from anyone last week when Tony threw for a career high in yards and 3 touchdowns.

Actually, there were quite a few people saying that it was a good win but against a team that probably isn't going to the Playoffs.

I remember, because I was one of the ones stating that Tony Romo and Co. did what they were suppose to do, beat a bad team.

Every loss seems to spawn another critic.

The latest to question the credentials of quarterback Tony Romo is Cowboys legend Tony Dorsett. The following comments were made during Dorsett's appearance today on Fox Sports Radio with Chris Myers and Steve Hartman.

"Well, for one thing, I don't know why on God's Earth Tony Romo has been anointed a superstar in the National Football League,'' Dorsett said. "Tony is very young in his career. Not to say you can't be young in your career and be a superstar because you've got one up there in Minnesota in Adrian Peterson.

"But the thing is this: you have a guy who hasn't done much and quarterbacks in the National Football League, most of them go through this growing curve. He hasn't gone through that growing curve, but he was anointed this great player all of a sudden. Now he's having to live up to that. And obviously Tony has some deficiencies.

"But, he's a good player who's still learning how to play in the National Football League and I think the media has given him too much credit for doing nothing. He hasn't done anything really in the National Football League to deserve all the recognition and visibility that he's gotten so far."

now, this is what I am talking about when i mentioned game starts between romo and eli manning, from 2005 to end of 2007 eli had 50 starts, eli turned the corner in about his 49th or 50th start, while romo has only had 41 starts;

i think romo might turn the corner about mid season or in december;

if you remember what did tom landry tell parcells one time, a player should show you something by his 3rd year, this is tony romo's 3rd year by midseason; we should see him make some more great steps by midseason on

I think Tom Landry meant a player must show something by his 3rd year not as a 3rd year as a starter but as a 3rd year after that player was drafted.

But I still agree with that we have to give Romo more time. I hope Romo does cut down on his stupid decisions.......because this team will win or lose with those decisions.

What has Adrian Peterson done but put up big stats just like Romo?

Can anyone answer that?

Not so much what he has done, its what he has not done. He has yet to cost his team a regular season game or a playoff game....

peterson is a very gifted rb, and now that the vikings have a decent qb, that makes peterson that much more valuable as a part of the piece

like when the cowboys had aikman, emmitt and irvin

the vikings now have farve, perterson and a very good defense

He sure enjoys the perks of the job though.:rolleyes: From dating starlets to singing at baseball games. Dont try to wipe Romos hands clean. He is a loser

How long did it take Coughlin to figure out that you protect your QB from himself by limiting his pass attempts? We need to run the ball way more than we do now and we need to reduce his audible rights till he gets it back together...

So he did not have fumbleitis in 2 different games last year causing his team to lose?

Welcome to Jerryland!

He had TO and Witten what else does he need......One of the best WRz ever and one of the best TE ever....... Cutler turned a 4th round pick Marshall into back to back 100 catch WR,, now he's gonna turn Johnny Knox into a Probowler......

Peyton is gonna make that rookie who score that TD to win the game last night a stud.

Sometimes a good QB has to make WRz better,, and to me I think TO and Glenn made Romo look better than he really is...

I do agree we need to draft a WR in the first, I have been wanting a WR in the first ever since Moss......

AP is the best RB in the game period........ U cannot say Romo is top 5 at his position....for that matter top 10..... Brees, Manning 2xs, Brady, Rothlisberger, Cutler, Mcnabb, and Rivers are all better than Romo, then u have Ryan, Flacco, Rodgers and even Sanchez that closing in on Romo....

totally agree, what romo hasnt learned yet, like the deep pass that romo sailed, romo couldnt find the safety or didnt look for him which he should have, he shouldnt have thrown that ball

eli threw where he needed too, and threw away the ball when something wasnt there, took what the defense gave him;

thats where romo is lacking and has to learn
some of that has to do with recognizing defenses, some experience, some smarts, but thats what great qbs to they come through in big games;

that was the whole point by what the cowboys, wade and jerry said, make the offense romo friendly, spread the ball around and run the ball like crazy

Dorsett isnt criticizing Romo. He's criticizing the media and the fans who thought Romo was the answer to all our prayers when in reality, he had flaws that had yet to be exploited and we're having to deal with that now.

i didnt say they were superstars either romo or peterson;
to me your not a superstar until you get to the championship game, especially the super bowl and win

like the cowboys in the late 60's and early 70's they were labeled they couldnt win the big one; once roger staubach won the super bowl staubach was labeled a super star.

when emmit smith got to the super bowl and ran like he did he was labeled a superstar

to me your a special player with great talent like romo and peterson are, but until you get to the championship game and the superbowl and win, prove u can win under pressure and win the big one, you arent a superstar;
