Tony Pauline's updated 2-round mock

The Golden to Dallas signal/noise ratio is high.. Is it real or is it a ploy to distract from who they really want?
Oh I forgot this is Dallas so they are to dumb to disguise anything, it is Golden then.

BTW IF they are going to try and "sneak" one over the rest of the NFL I expect it to be Hampton at 12 they had been targeting all along.
There is some noise they want Mykel Williams too. But Id say 60/40 in favor of Golden right now

My picks would be DT Derrick Harmon in the first and DT Tyleik Williams in the second. Likely fixes the DL no matter how Mazi turns out.

Yes, that would mean we'd still have holes at No. 2 receiver and starting RB. Ideally, we could trade back slightly in the first and pick up another third, but who knows if that would happen.

Using Brugler's top 100, I could still get Oregon RB Jordan James (77) with our third-rounder. If I could get another mid-round third-rounder, I could add a receiver like Stanford's Elic Ayomanor (90) or Washington State's Kyle Williams (91) to the mix at that position.

I'd gladly take:

16. DT Derrick Harmon
44. DT Tyleik Williams
76. RB Jordan James or WR Kyle Williams

I expect our draft to look more like Pauline's mock, though.

Kyle Williams is that dude

He is going to be a steal

Yeah, if we did draft the two DTs (again, pipe dream) and Williams was there in the third, I'd probably take him over the RBs and then double-dip in the fifth at that position.

Going by Brugler's draft guide, we might still have our pick of Brashard Smith, Jaydon Blue and Tahj Brooks in that round. I'd hate to wait that late to get RBs considering our RB room, but it would be worth it to get Harmon, Williams and Williams in the first three rounds IMO. It's possible that a D.J. Giddens, Devin Neal, Ollie Gordon or Damien Martinez also could make it to one of our fifth-round picks thanks to the depth at the position. Again, I would take two at that point to double our chances of hitting on one (of course, I would take two even if we took one early for that same reason).

So taking that into account, now I'm:

12. DT Derrick Harmon, Oregon
44. DT Tyleik Williams, Ohio State
76. WR Kyle Williams, Washington State
149. RB Jaydon Blue, Texas
174. RB Tahj Brooks, Texas Tech
204. CB/LB/OL
211. CB/LB/OL
217. CB/LB/OL
249. CB/LB/OL

That would add some serious talent to the offense. Golden will be the pick at 12, I’ve been convinced of that since February post combine. But I’m leaning towards front 7 defense for round 2.

You need to understand that the Cowboys have Golden WAY higher on their board than Tet.
Yeah I have a feeling Tet just doesnt fit into what Schottenheimer wants to do as much. WRs with versatility that can line up all over, and do multiple things well is what the Cowboys seem to want to do. I'm a big Tet fan, but at the same time hes likely going to be more limited as a possession type of guy out wide. Golden is the guy who can line up out wide or come in with those short splits we've been hearing about. I think this is an odd year where the team likes the slot profile guy more than the traditional X receiver type.

If they do go Judkins round 2 I think they need to use another pick on a RB later on. Nothing against Judkins, but the Cowboys really lack that explosive threat and have for a couple years now. Judkins has a ton of positive attributes, but is a more straight line runner that lacks the long speed.

Well, you can easily interchange Golden and Lamb in all 3 WR positions and not miss a beat.......nightmare opposing DCs

I agree but I think they may look for an RB closer to DeMarco Murray than Tony Pollard. But then again, Jahmyr Gibbs says he was sure the Cowboys were going to draft him. So who knows

Taking Henderson instead of Judkins at 44 sure would be interesting. Thats alot of speed and explosiveness added to the offense. Not that Judkins would be bad. Just that a Golden/Henderson combination is so intriguing to me
Me too. If the OLine can play decent, that combo gives us a chance to be a good offense.

Golden has suspect hands. People are becoming enamored with his testing and that he runs fast because people are obsessed with this idea you need a speed merchant to win.

Frankly, McMillan makes way more sense IMO when you factor in who our QB is.
