I would like to keep him under a new deal. According to Spotrac, his value is $5.1M or 3 years $15.1M. Hell, we can afford that.....

I been saying we should've tried to lock him up this off season, while he may have been affordable. The more touches he gets the more his price will go up, and the less likely we are to sign him.

It would've been prudent to get a deal done and then draft a mid round power type back next draft. We may end up turning over both starting rbs in one off season. It's a position that can play well out of the gates, but some continuity would be nice.

Pollard has been the better running back for a while now. But, Zeke is A self-promoting machine that continues to fool the Dallas front office.

Classic case of diminishing returns.

Yards per game

2016. 108.7
2017. 98.3
2018. 95.6
2019. 84.8
2020. 65.3
2021. 58.9
2022. 59.3
Numbers down significantly since MM came too. Too much freedom for Kellen to dial up to many pieces with that piece of crap QB. Now that he’s stuck with the run more with Cooper this offense is capable of winning now more than ever.

If Zeke refuses to take a pay cut, it's def possible.

Good point, and it sounds crazy but I could see Zeke taking a pay cut. He'd do so for two reasons: one he loves being a Cowboy and his team mates. Two, and more importantly, the pay cut could very well be worth more than he'd get on the open market. It will depend on how realistic his agent is.

Been saying this since last year. I'm no longer a Zeke fan. His days are over. They should just go with Pollard and one of our UDFA runningbacks. They would be a much more potent offense.

I wonder if he will open more joints when he retires. If they have stayed in business for 4 generations, they probably have a good local following.

They have devalued the position so much that it's hard to get a feel for what's he worth on the open market. I think will be a major part of whether or not to take a pay cut.

peeps can't even understand or respect a symbiotic relationship unfolding, it's always a competition.
A competition to make the other guys think we are so clever and smart.

"zeke is done...look how smart i am! "
