Cook is still a top back. I would be trying to sign him if I was GM

This speaks volumes considering it didn't cost that much to keep him for another year. Then again they've purged a lot of vets, so maybe not. It's obvious they are going for the Caleb / Mays sweepstake. I'll give Cousins 8 games, maybe, before he's benched. In fact, it would not surprise me if they traded him before the Oct deadline.
The Vikings aren’t about to bench Cousins. He had over 4500 yards and 29 TDs last season. They have nothing behind him. You’re talking about trading him before the October deadline, are you serious? Lol No one trades their starting QB during the season. After moving on from Dalvin Cook, they would be playing for a top 10 pick if they traded Cousins. Lucky you’re not running a team.

The Vikings have zero chance of being in position of getting the top pick of the draft. They think they are going to the playoffs. And there is no chance of Cousins getting traded. And benching him for who? Nick Mullens???

Rico Dowdle deserves a chance. He showed some pretty good speed and looked shifty before he got hurt.

Have you noticed all the vets they released? Most, if not all were starters......they are tanking before the season even starts. This isn't just my thinking, read several nuggets on social media suggesting the same thing. I'm not saying they will trade Cousins but if they get off to a bad start and one of the top 15 teams loses their QB for the season, yes I can see it happening before the Oct deadline.

Look me up if Cousins is benched or traded. Lol I’ll wager anything he’s not traded during the season. I can’t think of any team that’s traded their starting QB during the season. That just doesn’t happen.

Both in their prime? Cook.

Now? Pollard. Cook is where Zeke was right before The End. He THINKS he still has IT....and he'll be good for maybe 1 more year....but The RB Cliff is coming quick for Cook.

Pollard is great and the Cowboys RB1. I am hopeful someone already on the team plays well enough to offer a great 1-2 punch

Gotcha ...........I'll admit the trade is a long shot ( it's why I said if they get off to a bad start and another team loses their starting QB for the season) but benching? I'll hit you at ya WHEN that happens......LOL

On the surface it would be easy for me to say Cook as an already proven pro-bowl caliber rb.

Pollard has something though. He's younger, has less milage and is dynamite with a seem.

I'd have to take TP based on his fresher legs and potential to explode. It's a gamble, and I'd feel much better with a solid rb2 option though.

Who would you rather have?
Its a good question, if Pollard had not sustained that injury vs SF than I would be steadfast in Pollards corner, but he did and now we have doubts, with hope.
You ask a very good question because the majority of this fan base wants to hit a homerun with our depth at RB but what do we really know about it?
Davis
Vaughn
Dowdle
Jones
Luepke
Thats it in a nutshell peeps, I'm glad there are some vets floating on the rolodex like Zeke and Fournette.
I have always preached that RBs are and should be the easiest additions to the roster, other teams will have to trim as well so the RB market will increase in volume, binging the price even further down if desperate.

Cook isn’t what he was a couple years ago. His yards per carry has been steadily going down. Granted, he still produced last season, but in the playoffs against the Giants he did very little. He hasn’t played well in his last two playoff games. He looks like a back that’s about to hit the wall. This is why Minnesota moved on, and no one has signed him yet.
He is a nother aging RB, nothing more and nothing less.
Grab a great RB early if you are desperate, smart teams find those contributing RBs in later rounds.
