The Salary Cap is a percent of revenues negotiated with the NFLPA.Salary cap is a number set by the owners. They’ll never tell you what is really in their books regarding how much they are making.
This is the steaming matter that falls from a tall bull's butt.Playing hurt is part of football.
I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s some skimming off the top happening amongst the owners. The Salary Cap is a percent of revenues negotiated with the NFLPA.
The team wouldn’t have put him out there if he couldn’t play. Of course the injury affected his play. Patrick Mahomes played with an injury in the playoffs and Super Bowl. It limited his effectiveness, but football players play with injuries, it’s part of what they do. You appear to be just looking for something to argue about. This was my original comment, and you’ve turned it into a big argument about injuries. This is the steaming matter that falls from a tall bull's butt.
He played with a knee injury and stayed on the field. Think that was the type of injury you play through? Think that might have affected his foot speed? Think that might have reduced his ability to play out his contract?
I'd like to say I find it amusing when people pound their chests and make these types of comments on message boards. But a waste of bandwidth coming from DIGITAL TESTOSTERONE further convinces me those who make them are clueless.
They can all blame Zeke for teams not wanting to pay RBs. His decline began a year after he got paid. Another issue is players are looking for guaranteed contracts these days. No one is going to guarantee a lot of money to an RB. By the time they’re 27 or 28 they’re already showing signs of decline.
Due to lack of official information...we'll just have to disagree on the matter. There’s a difference between playing hurt and being injured. Players play hurt all the time, it’s part of the game. There isn’t a player on the field that doesn’t have some ailment. Zeke’s playing time was being managed.
I guess i was to soft on that steaming pile of poo..This is the steaming matter that falls from a tall bull's butt.

You implied that all players have and play through injuires. Some do some dont. The team wouldn’t have put him out there if he couldn’t play. Of course the injury affected his play. All players play through injuries. Like I said there isn’t a player on the field that doesn’t have some type of nick or ailment. I remember McCarthy talking about it. I know enough about the ins and outs of NFL football to know every player isn’t 100% healthy, especially during a 17 game season. An RB wouldn’t be able to play with the injury Mahomes had because all they do is run. KC doesn’t win the Super Bowl without Mahomes. There’s situations where players suck it up and play through injuries. because their team needs them. It comes down to the position a player plays what injuries they can play with. You implied that all players have and play through injuires. Some do some dont.
I pose neither one of us truly know the ins and outs of nfl medical staff and exec management.
But you did just admit mahomes played injured and it limited his performance.
A rb cant hobble around like he did.
I think we"re in the weeds here. Ive lost your point...sorry. Have a good day.All players play through injuries. Like I said there isn’t a player on the field that doesn’t have some type of nick or ailment. I remember McCarthy talking about it. The players that don’t play hurt/injured is because they can’t be effective, or it could develop into something more serious or long-term. That’s when it’s best to error on the side of caution and sit the player. It comes down to the position a player plays and the type of injury they have. There’s certain injuries that can linger all season, and a player just has to battle through it. Dak couldn’t play with a thumb injury, because he couldn’t grip the football. Mahomes was able to play with his injury, because it was a lower body injury that didn’t affect his ability to throw. Emmitt Smith played with numerous injuries during his career. Injuries and managing them are part of football.Due to lack of official information...we'll just have to disagree on the matter.
Yes of course SOME players play hurt/injured...whatever you wanna call it. And some don't. Mkay...fact.
I watched Zeke for more than 10 years. But of course he could never continue to match or surpass his epic 1st three NFL years. A "decline" was obviously expected.
It was obvious to me that playing injured had terrible consequences.
Right. The players that don’t play hurt/injured is because they can’t be effective, or it could develop into something more serious or long-term. Players want to play and rarely does a player request they don’t play with an injury. It’s usually the coaches that say they’re not going to play. I remember later in the season when Mahomes first got injured, they showed a scene on the sidelines that was miked up, where Andy Reid said he was going to pull him and Mahomes argued and said he didn’t want to be pulled. Players want to play. They have goals they want to achieve and want to be out there. Every season in football comes down to having to manage injuries. Trainers are working on players every week to get them ready to play the following game.Right.
So therefor... the "manager" could be right or wrong in managing the injuries.
Exactly.Players want to play and rarely does a player request they don’t play with an injury. It’s usually the coaches that say they’re not going to play. I remember later in the season when Mahomes first got injured, they showed a scene on the sidelines that was miked up, where Andy Reid said he was going to pull him and Mahomes argued and said he didn’t want to be pulled. You never hear about a player not wanting to play with an injury. It certainly isn’t going to help a player get a huge contract if they don’t want to play with an injury. Availability is a big thing to teams. Jerry moved on from some players because of their lack of availability. If a player insists they’re going to sit out until they’re 100% they won’t be playing football very long. The last thing players want to do is give their backup an opportunity or give the appearance they’re soft and can’t be depended on.Exactly.
Not sure what disagreement we had. Other than i do think some players wont play injured more by choice than staff management. You dont.
no big deal.
