Tony Romo Finally Ready to Settle Down?

The American Idol alum dated Romo, 29, in 2007, but by October of that year, she seemed to have had enough.

"Point blank, he is about football. I don't know if it's that I'm not quite his type or whatever, but I don't think he's at the point in his life where he would be willing to sacrifice football," she said at the time. "He hated so much that people thought that he was paying more attention to me and that was causing him to not do well.''

To be fair in a later interview when Carrie was asked about the quote, she said that she wanted everyone to know that he took his job seriously because at the time that was being questioned. She said it to support him when others were trashing him after the bobbled snap.

i'm still believe that carrie is singing about chace crawford in that song. he fits the description of "cowboy casanova" perfectly. IT'S NOT ABOUT ROMO!!

Very questionable what she meant. From all accounts she is not a particularly ego driven type of Hollywood women that demand it all be about them (not like the Hollywood men are really any different). Spending more time with her then working out, etc might have been what she was talking about.

Also isn't Carrie Underwood now engaged to a NHLer based in Ottawa? So she found somebody she was willing to move for despite her career being based in Nashville. Tony wasn't that guy for her. And Underwood wasn't that girl for him. Sometimes things work out for the best for everybody.

Not because of the comments of some anonymous people claiming to be in the know on the always reliable E! site but I think this Tony settling down story is BS. If I'm guessing it's nothing more than another set up by a gossip columnist for another Jessica Simpson meltdown story. Another possibility is Starter wants to throw some attention Tony's way to coincide with his golf outings so they leaked a rumor for some press. But I hope that's not it.

I'm a big fan of Candice Crawford. That's because I don't hear a lot about her relationship with Tony. Occasional silly stuff like this rumor is unavoidable if you're Tony but they've done a good job not feeding the beast.

Rumors are swirling again that Tony Romo and Candice Crawford may be ready to walk down that aisle.

Back in December, Candice (Chace Crawford's sister) was spotted sporting something shiny and diamond-like on her left ring finger, but colleagues of Candice's were quick to shoot down engagement rumors.

However, friends close to the Dallas power couple fess Tony and Candice really are getting that serious...

"Tony's ready to make the next step," a bud close to the cute quarterback tells us.

Apparently third blonde's the charm, because we hear Tony's head-over-heels for the journalist slash beauty queen.

"They'll move in together," adds the sports (and relationship) insider, "because he's telling friends that he's most likely going to pop the question...soon."

Don't know a whole lot about Candice, but judging from Romo's past conquests like Carrie Underwood (who dated Chace Crawford if you remember) and Jessica Simpson, lookswise, Candice isn't exactly off his beat.

But we think it's a good thing this babe is a little bit in the limelight, but not too much. Might give the couple a fighting chance! Especially if the Dallas Cowboys rival teams have yet to make masks out of Candice's face.

So what do you all think—is C.C. up to the task of taking Romo off the bachelors market for good? We're not exactly holding our breath, but are happy to be proven wrong!
