Boy you can tell we're into the off season with this thread, but let me state my case. First, I believe in Romo...a lot. I believe he has extraordinary gifts that you simply cannot teach, but he's got some work to do and I believe this is a reflection of one of his faults.

If you look back in his first 15 or 20 games he wore long white shirts under his jersey in cold weather. I specifically remember under the blues. He came out of the box and lit it up, he was new, different and exciting. He didn't care that he was undrafted he believed in his mind he could play...and he could. He wore sleeves because it was who he was, after all, he really didn't even belong there.

Then, slowly the realities of carrying the team, of being a leader and setting the tone creeped in and he changed. The change is wrapped in intangibles and day to day interaction in the locker room with the guys, but he changed. Consider if you will...the Pittsburgh game.

He came out in short sleeves, not a big deal, but it was cold...damn cold and he was cold and I was cold watching him and I believe he he did it to fit in, because in his mind...you gotta be one of the guys. You gotta be macho and show them that you fit in, that you belong.

But what Tony doesn't grasp yet is you are the Quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. YOU don't fit in. You lead. You don't conform you lead. I believe the sleeves speak to his maturing process, much like the gossip page girlfriend. When he figures it out I believe he's going to be great. I can't wait for the sleeves again.

By the way, I'm in my 40's and I'm looking forward to maturing hopefully before I'm 50. :)

He still wears his hat backwards, and he has a ridiculous golf thing he tried after the season, so...I think he's still himself.

But you can tell from the fact that he looks like he's not getting his hair cut by a ******** blind person anymore that someone got ahold of him and worked on his public image.

But I don't see the relevance of any of this, so I will say Tony should wear under armor.

I'm just sick of the "IF losing a game is the worst thing that ever happens to me..." attitude/outlook. It's a loser's attitude and not one that the QB of the Dallas Cowboys should be showing his fans or his opponents.

The things that folks found endearing about Tony Romo early on; the smile, the "aw shucks" laidback attitude; have all worn thin and I think that honeymoon is over. Now he has to put up or shut up; can't wait forever for him to figure things out.

I'm with you, Tony Romo *CAN* lead this team to a SB win and he *CAN* be an elite HOF caliber QB, but the one thing that hasn't changed the last 3 years, that attitude, must change.

Tony Romo isn't just a NFL quarterback; he's *THE* quarterback of *THE* Dallas Cowboys. He's under more pressure, more scrutiny and the expectations are higher than for ANY other quarterback in this league. It sucks, but that's what he signed up for: time to put up or shut up.

I am glad you didnt see me playing basketball in the winter when I was a teenager.

Where I am from, we went outside and played basketball when it was 35 and sunny in the winter....sometimes in shorts.

You would have been disgusted.

Nice try Theebs & Hos...but I was brought up in Buffalo so I was probably shoveling snow in the driveway way before you to go out and play basketball...in short sleeves, I get it...

But sleeves? Damn right in that game and in that weather and you're the quarterback, Ben wears them, Peyton wears them...But you didn't even read the thread. It's not about the sleeves it's the thought process behind the sleeves.

So...Romo can think better with long sleeves?

I don't know who is more insecure Tony Romo or Terrell Owens.

Romo wants to be just another guy, but dates a celebrity. He wants to be a philisophical historian of legendary QBs, but turns the ball over like hes Sage Rosenfels when the weather gets cold. Romo doesn't care about losing, he appreciates life and the blessings he's received, but he says he doesn't sleep for two days after a tough loss. He's high fiving a ref when we're up, then pouting on the sidelines after a pick, head hanging like he's in pop warner.

For a guy that perpetually projects he doesn't care about 'perception', he seems to searching for an identity. I wish he would just be himself and play football, and stop thinking so much.

We need a QB coach bad. Or a coordinator he'll take seriously.

Romo thought he was going to demonstrate what a tough guy he was by playing the Pittsburgh game without sleeves. He then went out and played a very below average game, and ultimately lost the game when he threw a pick 6 in desperation even though we weren't in a desperation situation. All that was necessary was for Tony to protect the ball, and either get a winning FG, or just simply go to OT and see what happens.

These kinds of things cannot keep happening with Romo if the team is to win anything meaningful.

Does he still wear his lucky torn t-shirt though?

I bet Jessica told him to throw it away...I bet you, I bet you!

Yep, I just knew something tangible was missing from his game.

Then he looked like a girl huddling by the heater between plays.

Personally, I thought it was cool the way he and everyone else went sleeveless, especially his WRs. After all the talk from those guys of how the cold would make those wussy southerners curl up in a ball and quit the second they got off the bus, I liked that they came out making a statement.

And that was also one of the best games we played all year.

Bottom line, it wasn't the lack of sleeves that made Tony throw those picks.

It was his telegraphed passes to Witten that every defender knew about before he threw it. So did Lebeau.

Yeah that one hurt, really hard for a team to bounce back after something like that.

Especially hearing that Romo was talking noise to them before the play, "wait, you guys called a timeout?"

Oh, Lebeau was saying they recognized it before that. Which again goes back to my sig.

Romo has been remarkable at times. He's also made some untimely errors. He's still pretty inexperienced, in the grand scheme of things, especially having come from such a small college environment. We have to hope experience makes him better, more cautious with the ball.
