I figured since everyone else wrote there opinions, why not mine....quickly...on the game.

I didn't watch it live. I was at work. I watched the computer demo on NFL.com and read the threads in here. I tivoed the game with the DVR my wife bought yesterday morning ($99.00 with a $100.00 dollar rebate at Best Buy. Should have done this long ago. It's great.).

Anyway, I'm a big Bledsoe fan and always have been, before he was a Cowboy. That being said, I was happy to see he didn't play as bad as some people on here had me believing. Not great, but not that bad. He really had little time to throw and almost no seperation by our receivers. We have bigger problems than Bledsoe. Monday night he will show better.

The starting Offensive Line was really bad. Especially Gurode and Pettite (SP). They won't be starting on this team this year. Jones had to fight for every yard he got, and Bledsoe was under constant pressure.

The starting WR's go no seperation on most plays. This is a spot where I am really concerned. Someone needs to step up here other than Witten. I think they will play better as well.

Bad game for Tucker, Gurode, Pettite, Keith Davis.

Good game for Fowler, Henry, Thompson, Ware, Steve? (I forgot) and Romo.

Brings me to my last point. I really saw something in Tony Romo last night. I am no longer worried about our backup QB position. I like Henson, but I expect Romo to make it clear by the end of next weeks game. This guy might be something really special. I hate to say this, but he reminds me of Brett Favre. His manorisms in the pocket, the way he moves. He's so smooth and carries himself around the field like he knows he will succeed. He seemed to know exactly where he was going with the ball everytime. The poor pass protection and lack of seperation didn't effect him as much. He was in there against the Cardinals #1 defense as well. He was extremely accurate, almost ridiculously accurate. He showed great velocity on his passes when velocity was necessary, and showed great touch when touch was needed. I never realized he had such a strong arm until I watched this game, and then read the article posted on this board. His arm may just rival Favres.

Anyway, I'm not your typical poster who rides the waves of emotion, but I was won over by Tony Romo last night. I'm not saying he should start over Bledsoe, but I think he will be the QB of the future for the Dallas Cowboys. It's just one game, but some things cannot be taught. He has something. I cannot explain it, but you can see it when he is on the field. Something I never saw from Carter, Hutchinson, Stoerner, Wright, or even Henson yet. It's different.

A quick point on Henson. I think he suffered from some bad playcalling, especially around the goal line late in the game. He had one on one coverage at the top, and they were calling screens. Not Hensons fault at all. He did pretty good, though I would have hoped for a little better against people who will soon be on the street. In his defense, he was playing with those same types of people. Not bad overall for Henson.

We always struggle in Arizona. I expect a better game all around next week.

Real nice post man, I agree with everything you said. Romo is someone who we need to keep our eye on and quit throwing him to the side because he comes from "some Div. II school in Illinois.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Oh BTW, did anybody else watching the game get the sense that "Pepper" Johnson is going to be a Reggie White clone?

Yeah, I'd have to say he does.

His manorisms on the field.

The way he carries himself.

Both 6' 2", 220

Lesser know college careers.

Both counted out as NFL QB's, buried on the bench behind "Bigger Prospects"

Similar arm strength (according to combine workouts).

Smooth with good mobility around the pocket.

Confidence.

Now, will he ever be as good as Favre. Chances are not. But, that doesn't change the fact that he simply reminds me of Favre in a few different ways. We could only hope.

I was really going to flame you over this but I decided to go back and watch the vids again to see what you were talking about.
Romo does kind of carry himself like Favre. He has the bow-legged thing going and his throwing motion, as he finishes, does look similar to Favre.
I bet if you asked Romo who is favorite QB is he would say Favre. He was coming of age as an athlete while Favre was in his prime and likely, either consciously or unconsciously, tries to emulate him.
I do have to strongly disagree on the arm strength side. He in no way reminds me of Favre in that aspect regardless of what the draft combine said.
Favre throws so hard he breaks receivers fingers in practice.
If Romo had that kind of a gun, and very few have ever had, we would of seen it by now. Or at least heard about it.

Ok, first let me state you are way off about Romo's arm strength. While it is probably ok, it is not even in the same league as Favre's arm. Not even close! That video you where looking at must have been on super speed.

But, I do agree with the rest of your post.
Romo just seems to have something. You just can not put your finger on it, but you just feel he has something.
I do think he carries himself very simliar to Favre in the pocket, and has a gun slinger mentality, but does not have the gun, which I think is what BP has been working with him on because he will not be able to force the ball.

Many great QB's did not have great arms, but they had to be smart, confident, and have touch. I really think Romo has all of that.

The guy he actually reminds me of is Jake Delohmme (sp).
Another guy that just seems to have it, and you do not know why.
