What Romo should say.....

"I would like to thank former QB Jake Plummer, if he didn't sign a large contract for the Broncos I may never have been a Cowboy".

"I would like to thank Quincy Carter for not being responsible in his personal life. If he would have stayed clean, I would have been cut from the Cowboys instead of him".

"I would like to thank Drew Bledsoe for his beautifully thrown interception at the end of the half of the Giants game last year. If not for that, my stubborn coach would have probably left me on the bench".

"I would like to thank Brad Johnson. Because of him I may now be judged on my Quarterbacking ability instead of my previous holding duties".

"I would like to thank former QB and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. What can I say he just ROCKS! He rocks even better than I do at Guitar hero 3".

" I would like to thank former QB and Quarterback coach Wade Wilson. I really do think Grossman was just a bad QB and terribly wrong on what he said about you Wade."

"Lastly, and with deepest appreciation, I would like to thank Tom Brady for helping to run up the score on so many teams. Thanks to you, and your assistance with *ticking* off so many fans, we'll have the 12th man in the SB. It really should be a great home game for us, assuming both of our teams get there of course".

Am I missing any here? Feel free to add or chime in.

I'm still not sure the whole QC thing would have mattered. I think the writing was on the wall for Quincy. During that very training camp, there were grumblings in the coaching staff about Romo being the starter from day 1. So, we have a guy that some on the coaching staff see enough in to think he might could work out as starter, we have a guy that we've spent a 3rd round pick on, and we have a veteran QB that we brought in to be a backup.

I think Quincy was gone regardless.

"I'd like to thank Vinnie Testeverde for returning to his sarcophagus after 2004."

"I'd like to thank Drew Henson for taking Yankee money and losing substantial ground in quarterbacking ability, but props for that one good touchdown drive against the Ravens."

"I'd like to thank Chad Hutchinson for throwing balls as ugly as his mug."

"I'd like to thank Bruce Coslet for failing miserably in his efforts to install the west coast offense in Dallas."

"I'd like to thank Joey Galloway for keeping Jerry Jones away from the notion of selling the ranch to trade up for Michael Vick in 2001."

"I'd like to thank Clint Stoerner for not making the cut over me, drinks on me buddy (what too soon?)."

"I'd like to thank Drew Bledsoe for his stoic sunflower seed chewing instead of giving me tips on avoiding the rush."

"I'd like to thank free agency for failing to yield a suitable player to sign with Dallas."

"Lastly I'd like to thank you the fans, for buying my jerseys and lining my pockets with sweet unadulterated cash."

Not that it matters now, but you are so wrong about this. Quincy was the starter... period.

Did you happen to catch the press conference with Jerry and Bill after they cut him? They looked and sounded like their son had died.

Parcells was asked just last season, "What has been the biggest disappointment in your career as Cowboys coach?" His response? The Quincy Carter situation.

Doesn't sound like a guy who was "gone regardless".

Grumblings about Romo starting in 2004??? Dude... Parcells wasn't even willing to make him our opening day starter in 2006... there was no way in hell he'd give him a go in '04. And Henson, as we all saw, hardly played that year despite our horrible record and Vinny's struggles.

So unless you believe Vinny was brought in to OUST Quincy as the opening day starter, no other scenario makes any sense. Parcells would've preferred death over starting Henson or Romo on opening day 2004.
