He looks calm, cool and collected on the links. Would not be surprised to see him become a PGA Tour player once he retires from the NFL.

Nah - he can't even make it out of Local US Open qualifying. He's a very good golfer but needs a long ways to go to make it on PGA Tour. John Brodie did it and eventually made it to Senior Tour.

I think DC's point is valid. He can't make it out of the local qualifying, because he can't practice the proper amount of time towards it.

If Romo dedicated as much time to his golf game as he does to his football prowess, it's very possible this could become a secondary career for him after he's done playing with the 'boys.

Well he would have to develop his game alot to get to a PGA tour level, but I guess anything is possible. That cut off backswing definitely won't cut it, even though he is still pretty long with it cause of his athleticism.

Still has the look of a very good weekend golfer, although an 84 on that course is very impressive.

At age 35 and NFL battered body - it's a longshot he can step in and beat PGA tour veterans and young players.

Not quite as long a shot as Ricky Santos making a career out of football. :wink2:

This just in: Tiger is money.

he is absolutely amazing, although if he had to play in the same grouping with anybody that looked half as stupid as Justin Timberlake did in that 4-some with Romo and co, I bet he misses that put

Exactly. He steps up on that course and shoots an 84 and he didn't even practice on it all week.

He was incredible this weekend. Yesterday he was up and down and up again when he needed to get into a lead.

Today he comes out terrible, then he settles down and just battles to stay within the top three.

That last hole had it all though. All he has to do is look for a birdie to get into the playoff. He misses the fairway right off the bat. Then he goes from the trap to the rough and it still looks bleak. How he even gets into position for an incredible birdie put on his third shot was just crazy.

But with all the pressure in the world on his back, and his bum knee, he nails it from like 12 yards out in an ugly as all hell putt that was bumpin and grindin it's way to the hole from the word go.

I can't even talk I was screaming so loud as that thing dropped in.

The mental toughness he shows over and over again is out of this world.

I have already cancelled and rearranged some things to make sure I see the playoff tomorrow.

He will never be on the pga tour, he takes 7 hours to complete 18 holes remember.

LOL @ Romo's 4 putt on that part 3. That was God awful putting. And then his follow up chip shot on the next hole....

Granted, there is no way in hell I shoot an 84 at Torrey Pines.

But that was some bad golf right there.

I don't doubt Romo's work ethic in regards to golf. I believe he'll put the necessary time into trying to compete when he's done with football. But he still has a ways to go......

Um, Romo would have no shot on the PGA tour... None.

Now like Nors said, if he really wants to bust his butt for many years and try the Senior Tour when he's 50? Maybe.
