I was kicked off other forums touting the potential of Tony Romo 8 yrs ago. I saw from the beginning he had the "IT" factor. Moxy. Whatever you want to call it, it was obvious he as a winner, a competitor. I was ridiculed, and I can understand why, because "until he has some skins", he aint ****. And now, I believe, that Romo is on the cusp of NFL QB elitness(barring injury) NEVER seen from a Cowboy QB. This guy is the real deal and is still improving his game. Championships are the only measurement for long lasting historical purposes. He's already elite in my mind.

You were touting him and his moxie his senior year in college and got kicked off of Cowboys sites for it?

Sorry. Not buying that. He's been playing for 7 years man. This is year 8.

No one was touting him on any website while he was still on the Practice squad his first 2 years. It wasn't until he was a legit backup that people started discussing him.

Name and shame the forum then.

He was on the practice squad? I could have sworn he has been on the 53 since he was a rookie?

You were kicked off a forum for liking a player too much? That doesn't bode well for R2A.

I do remember people liking that we was a good golfer but agreed, nobody even thought he was an option his first few seasons.

You are correct. No one touted him until he was a legit backup though. I don't care what the OP says. No way even 7 years ago.

I knew Randy Moss was going to be good before he entered the NFl, where's my cookie?

Agreed.

Personally, I didn't even start thinking of him as a viable option until that Texans game when he came in and threw a long pass to Sam Hurd and then a TD to T.O.

Then 3 weeks later.... The Dallas Cowboys were changed.

Step away from the mini keg, it's giving you a false ego. ;)

I'm sure there are many people who "saw something in him" going back to 2003. Mmh.

Oh please. In 2003 the talk was ALL QC vs. Hutch the same as 2002.

2004 was all Henson.

Romo started getting love in 2005. It was still a lot of Henson love, but Romo was seen as better by some. Until then, no one was talking about our 3rd string QB.

2005 I will buy. Any earlier than that? Nope. No sale.

Tony Romo was never rpt never on the PS. He made the roster his first year with the Cowboys back in 2003 as an undrafted rookie free agent.

FYI: Parcells was unwilling to expose Romo to get him on the PS cause he know that other teams (particularly the Broncos & the Cards) would do just about anything to get their hands on him. One of Romo's biggest supporters was former Giant OC Sean Payton who became de facto Cowboys OC in 2003; Payton saw enough of Romo in college to want him & Jerry Jones was convinced to call Romo to ensure Romo chose the Cowboys over the Broncos & Cards. When Sean Payton became HC of the Saints in 2006, he offerred the Cowboys a 3rd rounder for Romo but Jerry wanted a 2nd. Later, Jones said he was just seeing how much Payton would pay.

Romo impressed me the first time in that preseason game against the Raiders where he signaled he was going to down the ball then called a quarterback sneak to win the game on the last play of the game. That impressed me quite a bit. That being said, his throws were more like basketball passes back then and were not thrown with any real speed or determination.

In 2005, I started liking Romo even more and felt he was better than Hensen and Hostile and I debated that topic a few times back then :D However, it really wasn't until 2006 that Romo started looking like an NFL starting quarterback.

Anyone who says Romo was a star or should have been the starting quarterback prior to 2006 either has horrible memory or is choosing to look through rose-colored glasses in hindsight.

No, what I'm saying is there are folks out there who will make a claim, in order to boost their own foresight by using revisionist history, that they knew Tony Romo was going to be something special way back in 2003.

I was behind the curve, personally. I was still curious as to why we cut Drew Henson in the pre-season of 2006.

I was way ahead of the curve on Romo and I wasn't anywhere to be found prior to 2005

I saw his potential when he was a baby. He could really throw a mean pacifier.

Okay, that I will buy. I think that was exactly the intention of the OP.

The OP laid some super troll bait out in this one. He makes one completely ridiculous statement and then vanishes.
