Tony Romo's Interceptions

Now to start off I'm a big supporter of Romo and feel that he's a great quarterback. However, I'm hearing about him throwing a lot more int's in camp this year then in years past. Do you all think that's due to our pass defense just being so much more superior this year then in year's past? Or is it maybe the O-Line leading to Romo getting more pressure? I only ask because like I said earlier I don't recall Romo throwing anywhere near as many interceptions in past camps as he has in this one.

Thoughts?

It's not like he's going to throw the ball away or take a sack to extend the drive during training camp. Not concerned at all about this. He's there to put the ball up for the receiver to catch and the secondary to defend...

There's probably several reasons none of which worry me

- He's throwing a lot more passes then he would in a game so more chances to get picked

- Lots of new WRs

- First week of camp the defense have historically been better then the offense

- Better defense

- It's practice so he's probably trying a lot of passes that he normally wouldn't in a game

- Patch work interior OL

Throwing to a lot of crappy WRs against very good corners. I'd say that's about it.

I don't expect it to be a problem in the regular season.

I figured, I wasn't really concerned just curious. I figure it's a good thing that our DB's are actually making plays for once.

Its training camp. There is no reason not to throw the ball out there and see what the WR or CB can do. It can only help the team. STart worrying when he's throwing for TD's all day and no INT's or incompletions

We see this topic every year (your memory is flawed BTW, he always throws a lot of picks the first few practices) and it simply doesn't mean anything. QBs don't like to throw the ball away in practice, our offensive line has no cohesion and isn't very good even when healthy and the coaches are trying to work in all the plays and not just the ones that they know will work in games.

I can't remember the annual posts, but I do agree that Romo and other QBs in general throw more picks this time of year. He was throwing just as many last year at this time.

Too much rust, miscommunication and too many new pieces to expect anything else.

A couple of the INTs were balls ripped out of the receivers hands. Another was a ball that bounced of a training camp ref. Those are INTs the QB can't control. Beyond that, it's training camp. It's the same thing every year. Lots of INTs.

in training camp you throw a ton of balls you can expect some will get picked off. On the upside if none were being picked people would claim we spend money on the secondary and they are a bunch of bust. :laugh2:

10-11 ints last year - not worried here!

I have long since given up trying to defend Romo on here. His stats speak for themselves. One day when Romo wins a couple the naysayers will finally give in, but even then they will say that they were right and he had since developed leadership skills that put him over the top. They will never attribute it to the team around him either good or bad.

I read this site faithfully and others, the is the first I heard of this. I do remember reading Romo's valicity was noticeably better than the other QBs

He's definitely been blasting it.

I'm wondering exactly which reports have claimed that Romo is throwing more interceptions than in previous training camps. I haven't seen any.

There aren't any. Maybe this is the TC's first training camp.
