Toomer in a Tiff with Talkshow host

Toomer is also wrong about Joe Beningo. I live in the New York area and this guy is one of the better sportstalk announcers on the radio. He know his stuff and is very passionate about his teams.

He even predicted Testaverde would have a big year with the Cowboys before Vinnie was announced the starter. He's a lifelong Jets fan so he knows all about Vinnie.

Shame on Toomer. What an idiot!! I thought the guy had more class...but I guess not. Maybe he needs to learn how to be more humble from his boy Shockey. :D

All I know is we don't need Toomer, who's had big games against us before, being extra focused and trying to prove a point this Sunday...I don't like it.

Toomer is a very good wr but he needs to stop messing with the bull or he'll get the horns again :D

Beningo is right about the offensive system probably hampering Toomer's stats this season. He does not have a TD this year and his average has dropped to 14.2 ypc which is less than his career average of 15.2 ypc.

Sorry, how could I have forgotten Galloway. Anyways, he only had 37 catches, McCareins had 47, Lelie had 37, and Walker had 41 (while Toomer had 63). All were used as complementary deep-threat-specialist receivers while Toomer was the Giants go-to-guy. Anyways, I guess I'm somewhat defensive about Toomer because I actually met him a couple of years ago after a game and he was funny (but polite) to me. I got him to autograph my shorts and after he did, he said, "Perhaps I should sign the other bun because I find asymmetry aesthetically unappealing." lol...

How come when women are wrong, some how they are right?

ROTF. Beningo is an unprofessional fanboy and quite unobjective. If Toomer was a Jet he'd have a shring in his basement for him. Total idiot.

Granted, he makes for occasional humerous listening when his teams suffer (ie. Rangaz, Jets, Mets) but mostly a blowhard, and an illiterate one at that.

Toomer in '03: 5 TD's, 63 catches for 1057 yards - 16.8 yds/catch = best in the league

I wish people would do some actual research...

Hey, I wasn't too too far off in my excessive sanctimoniousness, was I? "Best in the league" vs "fifth-best"? That's not too inaccurate, is it? Is it? Give a girl a brea.....omigod, look over there! Joe Gibbs' ego just ran over a pedestrian! (runs away over the horizon.....)

You left out the cartoon noises of your feet running in place before you actually can take off over the horizon. :p

If you look at the last 2 season Toomer is up there with the top WR in the league.

I just wanted to get away from the mess I made and running towards and eventually being beyond the horizon (and maybe behind some rocks) seemed a safe distance away

As a Giants fan, I have greatly appreciated Toomer's ability. He would be the #1 receiver on most teams. His ability to adjust to the ball in the air is a thing of beauty. He is smoooooooooth. Whether he is top 5 or top 10 is anybody's guess. He produced when he was essentially the only option in 02 and had to deal with double coverage all of the time. He's a player.

I'd like to see him with a big blue star on his helmet, regardless of where the pundits say he "fits" on the list of current WR's.

OMG... I love it when you talk dirty ;)

I'm thinking that guys like Moulds, Horn and Rod Smith are more or less good parallels to Toomer in terms of ability/production.
Moulds is head and shoulders above those guys.

If not for the decline of Bledsoe and the O-Line struggles, Moulds would no doubt be a top 3 or 4 receiver in this league.

If you put Moulds with Peyton Manning or Donovan McNabb... he'd be just as effective as Harrison or Owens in my opinion.

But Horn, Toomer, Rod Smith are on that same level i agree.

You can't really compare a 1st option receiver to 2nd and 3rd guys like Stokely.
See Peerless Price or Alvin Harper.
The games a little easier when you're constantly facing the 2nd and 3rd best corners or safeties.
