4. Travis Frederick, Cowboys C, first-round pick: Remember how much guff Dallas took for selecting Frederick with the No. 31 overall pick in the draft? Most of us thought it was silly, because Dallas had so many other needs and because Frederick was tagged with either second- or third-round grades by some draft analysts. Instead, Frederick has thrived, and Pro Football Focus ranks him the ninth-best center in the league thus far. He's not a superstar center yet, but he's played much better than many people would have thought. Come to think of it, he's probably the most successful offensive linemen taken in the first round.

Glad to see TFred getting some recognition. He has been a very solid addition to the line and I can only see him getting better with time.

Great to see T Fred there

T Fred and Warford !!

What might have been if we had people with some sense in the FO

I was wondering how long before a post like this came up...I was right, didn't take long.
Get over it, we also have another rookie doing very well in Terence Williams.

Escobar ain't doing much though. Maybe we'll draft another TE next year and try again. That is the pick most people are pissed about, not T Will

To me this is not what the thread is about. But people always turn it into a "jab" contest. Why not stick with the thread title. It's not about the 2nd round pick, if they want to complain, start yet another thread about it.

Relax there buddy. He was just cracking a joke. No need to get your socks in a knot. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

So far, I'd say Fredbeard >>>>> Sharif Floyd. And when you throw in WR Wiliams who is also part of the equation since we picked him with the trade down, I'd say excellent choice by the front office.

The front office did well this past draft. Give them credit. Sure, we'd all like Lacy or Warford over the Escobar pick. I'm sure a lot of teams would also like to go back and draft Det's FA TE Fauria.

I was a doubter..

I hated his athletic ability and how he spent so much time falling down.

Gotta say that so far I'm very happy with him being in the middle for a long time.

Fair enough, but then don't bring up T Will if you don't want to hear about the other side of the coin

Glad we kept him at center instead of ruining him by moving him around. I know it was tempting to move him to RG and Costa to C. If you spend a 1st on someone you should play them at their natural position. I hope Leary can step up but I don't know. I'd rather spend top picks on DL than OG but we have serious issues at both OG spots.

I think Leary has missed the boat already. He has been awful. We'll l probably have to go G and 2 DL in the first 3 round. At the very least a G and DL

Yes this has proven to be a huge correct decision.

Fair enough, article did say top 10, and T Wil was not in THEIR list. But it's also not about the other side of the coin.

Anyway, I'm heading to COWBOYS Stadium for the game. :)

It really is a sigh of relief. The Cowboys couldn't afford to have another drafted lineman not pan out, especially a first round pick, when there were opportunities to snag one of the best D-linemen in the draft.

Thankfully he has been awesome for us, save for struggles against some DTs like Poe and Jenkins, but he's going to be a good one for the next 10 years.

We need two guards. Bern is a backup and Waters is 57 years old.

If we would have taken Warford instead of Escobar, I wouldn't have complained one bit on draft day.
