2: The Stanford Band play

Saw it live on TV. I remember thinking to myself at the time .. "Why is the band on the field?" Then I remember I think it was a tuba player getting nailed by the guy when he scored in the end zone.

3: Kirk Gibson's homer in the 1988 WS

Saw it live on TV and taped it. Lifelong Dodgers fan so of course I saw this .. Gibson, the heart and soul of that team, limped out to bat with both knees hurting him so bad he could hardly stand up. Even the announcers I believe said something to the effect of if he doesn't hit it out, he probably won't make it to first.

4: Cal Ripken breaking the consecutive games played record

Saw it live on TV. Never forget Ripken's walk around the field afterwards :)

5: MJ hitting a jumper to win the title in his last game with Chicago in 1998

Saw it live on TV. I don't even know why it surprised me ..

6: Laetner's shot in 1992 against Kentucky

Saw it live on TV. How in the world can you let an inbound pass travel in the air 3/4's of the floor to the opposite end top of the key with hardly no time left on the clock?

8: Broadway Joe's SB prediction

Was this his "I want to kiss you" speech? :D :D :D Kidding of course

9: Doug Flutie's Hail Mary to beat Miami

Saw it live.

I just remember even before Jordan shot it and the Bulls had the ball, i said the Bulls are gonna win. You just knew it was coming, it was almost poetic. Too fitting.

Everytime I hear Al Michaels final words on the broadcast "Do you believe in Miracles? YES!!!" I get chills. Also on Gibson's homer "I dont believe what I just saw!"

A few others that were great:

"The Giants win the Pennant"
"Down goes Frazier"
Jordans shot on Elio
Jordan's free throw line dunk
The Bills playoff comeback in 1992
The Cowboys Hail Mary
When the Rangers ended their 54 year Stanley Cuo drought

The Miracle on Ice gets my vote, but I am a big hockey fan.

Some others:
Emmitt breaking Payton's rushing record.
Ray Bourque winning a Stanley Cup.

Personal favs, no order;

-Packers getting beat in the super bowl! :D
-Cowboy's Super Bowl Trophies #3, #4, & #5! {All brought a tear to my eye}
-Tony D's 99 yarder
-Emmitt becoming rushing king
-92 (I believe) Playoffs with Alvin Harper dunking it over the field goal post after a touchdown and continuing right on into the tunnel
-Cowboy's Super Bowl Trophies #1 & #2! {Even though I didn't see them}
-Molitor's 39 consecutive games hitting streak {Not the longest but I was first hand for it}
-Emmitt helping secure the division by playing hurt up in NY with a messed up shoulder and carrying this team to the win

A day or two ago, I insinuated that Hostile watched a lot of TV. I didn't mean to start a competition, but I do believe that you are making a case for yourself....:D

I am only 21, so I haven't seen most of this. Notables that I remember:

3 Championships for the Cowboys

Emmitt breaking the record (I nearly teared up, not because of excitement, but because Sumerall durn near ruined it with his poor announcing...)

The Music City Miracle - heard it on the radio on the way home from my grandparents, and I swear on all that is Holy, I remember thinking to myself about 10 seconds before the kick, "You know, if it were me, I would do a lateral here to return it..."

I never got to watch Landry coach, but I have read lots about him, and read the biography written about him by Bob St. John. Sue me, I cried when it talked about his funeral and all the quotes from former players and others that knew him.

That Pats 3rd Super Bowl - a big "screw you" to all those who claim parity and watered down leagues in the FA era. I love the Pats and what they stand for - it isn't America's Team, but they will go down in history with the other dynasties.

Boston Red Sox win the Series, break the curse. Unfortunately, this also ends one of the most successful marketing angles of a league that has been in trouble for over a decade.

Keri Strug. Dunno why I care, or anyone else, but I happened to watch it and was very impressed. It is, of course, worthy of all the parody, but at the time it was a big deal.

I think the most overlooked moment in sports history is Bill Mazeroski's HR to win the World Series over the heavily favored Yankees.

Others that I haven't seen mentioned:

All three Gatti-Ward fights.

Pete Giftopolis intercepting Testaverde to seal a national title for Penn St.

Vince Carter dunking on the French center.

Gretzky passing Howe.

Bo Kimble shooting the left-handed free throw in the NCAA tourney.

Rulon Gardner's gold medal.

Larry Owings beating Dan Gable.

Kellen Winslow vs. the Dolphins in the playoffs.

The Immaculate Reception.

The "tuck" rule game.

I gotta go with the "Miracle on Ice" I watched that game I loved the Olympics back then.

-Tony D's 99 yarder with only 10 offensive players on the field makes this even better...

Emmitt Playing against the Giants for over a half with a dislocated\broke shoulder That win got us a much needed Bye the next week....

Ali Vs. Foreman rumble in the Jungle.....

Tyson vs. Douglas

The only problem with that is, I can't get a grip on the greatness because well, frankly, I hate hockey.

I can say what the WORST moment in sports history for me was. When Montana made that lucky throw and I was PISSED.
