Saw it live on TV. I remember thinking to myself at the time .. "Why is the band on the field?" Then I remember I think it was a tuba player getting nailed by the guy when he scored in the end zone.
Saw it live on TV and taped it. Lifelong Dodgers fan so of course I saw this .. Gibson, the heart and soul of that team, limped out to bat with both knees hurting him so bad he could hardly stand up. Even the announcers I believe said something to the effect of if he doesn't hit it out, he probably won't make it to first.
Saw it live on TV. Never forget Ripken's walk around the field afterwards
Saw it live on TV. I don't even know why it surprised me ..
Saw it live on TV. How in the world can you let an inbound pass travel in the air 3/4's of the floor to the opposite end top of the key with hardly no time left on the clock?
Was this his "I want to kiss you" speech?
Kidding of course
Saw it live.
A day or two ago, I insinuated that Hostile watched a lot of TV. I didn't mean to start a competition, but I do believe that you are making a case for yourself....
I am only 21, so I haven't seen most of this. Notables that I remember:
3 Championships for the Cowboys
Emmitt breaking the record (I nearly teared up, not because of excitement, but because Sumerall durn near ruined it with his poor announcing...)
The Music City Miracle - heard it on the radio on the way home from my grandparents, and I swear on all that is Holy, I remember thinking to myself about 10 seconds before the kick, "You know, if it were me, I would do a lateral here to return it..."
I never got to watch Landry coach, but I have read lots about him, and read the biography written about him by Bob St. John. Sue me, I cried when it talked about his funeral and all the quotes from former players and others that knew him.
That Pats 3rd Super Bowl - a big "screw you" to all those who claim parity and watered down leagues in the FA era. I love the Pats and what they stand for - it isn't America's Team, but they will go down in history with the other dynasties.
Boston Red Sox win the Series, break the curse. Unfortunately, this also ends one of the most successful marketing angles of a league that has been in trouble for over a decade.
Keri Strug. Dunno why I care, or anyone else, but I happened to watch it and was very impressed. It is, of course, worthy of all the parody, but at the time it was a big deal.
