Previous Top 100 risers/fallers: 3/12

Risers
Ohio State outside linebacker Bobby Carpenter, characterized by trainers as only 90 percent healthy, impressed scouts with his speed in 40 yards (4.66, 4.68) and other workouts. However, some scouts believe he has little upside potential despite looking good now.

Florida State cornerback Antonio Cromartie further erased concerns about the health of his surgically repaired left knee with times of 4.37 and 4.39 seconds in 40 yards and a 42-inch vertical jump at his March 16 Pro Day.

Oregon wide receiver Demetrius Williams helped his standing in a poor class of wide receivers with a 40-yard time of 4.46 at his Pro Day workout.

Colorado tight end Joe Klopfenstein performed well in his positional drills and clocked a 40-yard time of 4.56 at his Pro Day workout.

Fallers
Texas quarterback Vince Young received obligatory rave notices from some after his Pro Day March 22, but the reality is he didn't do anything that should improve his stock. He ran fast, in the 4.55-second area, but that wasn't news. Despite coaching by Jerry Rhome, his throwing motion and footwork is still shaky. And now that the Raiders, New Orleans, Miami, Detroit and the New York Jets have acquired free agent quarterbacks, his market is shrinking in the first round. It seems doubtful Tennessee (No. 3) will take him, leaving his best possible chances with Arizona (No. 10) and Minnesota (No. 17).

Georgia's massive guard Max Jean-Gilles is slipping down the board as teams question the dedication and stamina of the 355-pounder. At this size, Jean-Gilles doesn't project well for the smaller, quicker offensive line schemes currently preferred by many NFL clubs.

Penn State defensive end Tamba Hali also has a size problem -- in this case it's the lack of enough of it. After measuring in at 275 pounds, prototypical of the position, Hali weighed in twelve pounds lighter at the Penn State Pro Day, leaving some to question how well he'll maintain his playing weight over the course of the grueling NFL season.

Ohio State receiver Santonio Holmes has yielded his spot as the top-rated wideout in the draft to Florida's Chad Jackson amid concerns that Holmes' weight dropped significantly since the Combine. Holmes measured a solid 188 pounds in Indianapolis, but dropped to 179 when it came time to run at his Pro Day.

If Gilles slips we might get him after all. I agree that he could lose some weight but unlike Watson he has never had a rep for being lazy.
Still think he would fit well on that side with the Hotel- both are massive players and Gilles has the quickness that LA no longer had.

Fox didn't make the list, nfldraftscout.com did. It's interesting, in that a lot of popular players aren't very highly rated here.

Thing is, you can't make plans on a player's worst rating. The people who dislike him most won't draft the guy. If the consensus shifts, then you have something to work with.

He's a great player, probably would've been the top rated DB had he not had a serious hip injury during last season. He looks healed now and ran under 4.4 40 plus he has great size I think 6'2 and his forte is coverage. Played some CB and could probably play it in the NFL but could also be a probowl FS. Most similiar player is Michael Huff. Very similiar style, size, and abilities player.

His hip injury just made a lot of people forget about him. He's a great value anywhere in the second round, even moreso in the middle to later part. Will be a starter and impact player year 1 or 2.

I tell you what I like about that. If you look at how they have those player rated, there are players at positions of need slotted right around where the Cowboys pick. I would love to think that Dallas would be able to pick the best player available and still fill a need at the same time.

Gotcha but it was just a little shot at FOX Channel; didn't have anything to do w/ VY and the list.:)

I'll tell you another guy that I think might be a good pickup. This draft is so deep at TE, it's rediculous.

You got:

Davis
Lewis
Byrd
Pope (a steal if he slips pas the 3rd IMO)
Fasano
Klopfenstein

and like 2 or 3 others but a guy nobody is talking about is Thomas from Texas.

This kid has hands. His size is adequate at 6'4 250lbs, IMO but he's a pretty decent blocker for his size. He really is an excellent short yardage receiver and while he's not exceptionally fast, his short shuttle is pretty good at 4.15. He is a perfect H-Back type. Also, he's exactly the type of player that could be a stand out ST guy. He's a pretty good long snapper as well. A team like Washington could draft this guy and turn him into a star at H-Back IMO. Somebody is going to draft him late and get a heck of a good football player IMO.

Kid from Oregon? Yeah, I've watched him play a little bit. He's interesting. He's a good receiving threat and he's pretty strong for his size. The only thing I don't like about him is the fact that he seems to get nicked up a lot. No question though, he has talent.
