the only problem I had with drafting zeke is that he should not have been a top ten pick.Oh, you want to play the hindsight game? ok. Drafting Zeke was a waste bc we could have filled that spot in round 2 with Derrick Henry.
We were bad the year before b/c Romo got injured in 2015 and we let Demarco Murray (reigning offensive MVP) walk. Sure Zeke gave us a boost but it amounted to nothing. Zeke lasted 4 seasons and was done. We would have been better off drafting Jalen Ramsey or Ronnie Stanley or Jack Conklin. Heck even Deforrest Buckner has had a better career than Zeke.
Other than that it was a logical pick with the mindset the Boys had as regards juicing up the Offense.
The year before Romo got hurt we were smoking with a top RB and our O line and everything else.
the only thing missing in 2016 was a top RB for the O. so Jethro grabbed the best one in the draft according to the scouts.
and for that year it was looking like a great pick. If Romo had not been injured who knows how things might have gone.
Now looking at it critically we should have done more for the D but that is not what Jethro really ever cares that much about
