What's your top 3 funniest TV series ever?

3. Family Guy - In an age of political correctness it's nice to find a series that's not. They pick on every race, religion, and belief there is without holding back. It makes me ashamed to laugh sometimes and that makes me laugh even harder.

2. Saturday Night Live 1975-1980 - Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, and Bill Murray were the cast just to name a few. They had regular guest appearances by George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Madeline Kahn, and Steve Martin. Musical appearances by names like Bill Withers, Jimmy Cliff, Leon Russell, Gordon Lightfoot, Preservation Hall, John Prine, The Band, Ry Cooder, Santana, Dr. John, and Chuck Berry. It was unlike anything on TV and ground breaking for so many careers. I couldn't wait for Saturday nights to watch.

1. Seinfeld - Relatable. I think that's what was so great about it. We could all relate to what was going on in each episode. The close talker, the quiet talker, the girl with man hands, Newman, George's parents, Uncle Leo, etc... We all know these people, grew up with them and even have them in our families. My 13 year old son sits and watches reruns on TBS with me and laughs as hard as I do because even he can relate to it.

Love Seinfeld and Family guy. The SNL era Golden Age was before my time unfortunately, but loved Will Ferrell, Tim Meadows, etc.

1. Seinfeld (Timeless) and really speaks to all aspects of human nature through every day topics/events (general selfishness). George Costanza was/is the most original comedic character on Television. So depraved and honest @ the same time.

2. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (basically new age Seinfeld with Booze and "Poppers" involved:D) The creators of the show (Rob McElhanny and Glenn Howerton) are really comedic geniuses in their own right. Tackling every day events (a show about nothing) through the minds of five booze fueled narcisists. "I hate people that are different than me...I mean why pretend?"

3. The Simpsons (seasons 1-10) before it got too stale and had a celebrity guest stars every episode. Just a great show that really should of sewn up about season 12-13. Love Family Guy for the quicker and more sarcastic tone. I love the cut aways

Toughie. Funny doesn't tend to stand up much over time (by that I mean, it's still funny, but it's not as topical, which blunts some of the edginess), so it's hard to go with all-time classics.

Futurama gets some consideration, I hope.

I've been watching a lot of old Simpsons episodes lately, thanks to XBMC and GOtv addon. I have to say, the writing is spectacular from those seasons. As a young kid, I related to them. Now, as an adult, I think I like them even more.

Same boat Bob, liked them as a kid but didn't appreciate just how well written and smart the early seasons were until I picked up the series on DVD, etc. A lot of people just think bad Bart and drunk slob Homer, but the writers put a lot of effort into each episode. I still pick up new things even though I've seen each episdoe dozens of times, etc. Like Idgit mentioned, it stands the test of time (well 20 years or so).

This was really speaking about who got the credit for the purchase of the said "big salad" seeing as the man who purchased the salad didn't hand the bag to said requestor of this "expensive salad-better description from George's perspective). Thank you's were exchanged but not to the purchaser of the big salad! She could've corrected her, but she didn't! To take credit like that. What kind of person takes credit for the purchase knowing they didn't make the purchase? There is something seriously wrong with her. To beleive it, she took credit for the purchase of your big salad! What kind of person is this? The same type of person that would not leave a note. It's not right, not right I tell you. :D

Nightcourt was a good show and MASH was just ahead of my time but understand it's esteemed place in comedic history.

I don't really like to rank things, but I'd definitely agree with the person who said Always Sunny. If I thought long and hard and did some research, I'd probably end up listing Always Sunny in my top 3. Also, I don't know if I'd list it in my top 3, but I'd say Curb Your Enthusiasm is much funnier than Seinfeld. Don't get me wrong, Seinfeld is a classic, but if I'm being objective and honest, there are a number of shows that are funnier. I'll do some research and come back with my list of top 3.

I forgot about Chapelle Show. I would say that's by far, in my opinion, the funniest show in television history. Over a decade old and it's still the most cutting-edge stuff I've ever seen. I'm just gonna make a list of my top 3 based on what I would find funny now. There is a lot of older stuff that is more classic but that I probably wouldn't enjoy as much today. Not to take away from the shows, since they were ahead of their times, but I just can't put them in my top 3 (that includes shows like Taxi, In Living Color, Seinfeld, I Love Lucy).

My top 3 (subject to change, except for #1):

1. Chappelle's Show
2. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm

Honorable Mention: Seinfeld

It is all a matter of taste I guess. Sanford and Son was hilarious, so were Happy Days and Hogan's Heroes.
