Here are some draftees that we would recommend avoiding if you are a GM who is faint of heart. While we understand that past actions are not always a precursor to future behavior, the draft is littered with prospects with all the talent in the world who washed out because they never were able to appreciate the amazing opportunity that they stepped into. Here is our list of the 2011 NFL Draft Bad Boys.

Supposed to have bigtime drug issues.

As well as it's been rumored that he went to visit the Panthers, and the following morning told the Offensive Coordinator he was "to sick" to meet him, and there is wide speculation that by "to sick" he meant "hungover" from partying the night before.

college kids do drugs, not a new story. i personally went to a top tier college, did many drugs myself and found that very few people i knew didn’t participate in drugs on one level or another. unless he is someone that is obviously abusive and addicted i would tend to file it under college experimentation

Although Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett refused to address questions from the media about alleged drug use at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis -- after dodging several queries, Mallett abruptly ended his press conference -- he apparently came clean in interviews with NFL teams.
"One G.M. said Mallett was the first quarterback ever to admit his drug usage to him in interviews, and his willingness to be honest about his past and acknowledge issues is viewed as a positive," according to Pro Football Weekly. "Concerns about his history of use could impact his draft position, though."

Questions about drug use are “standard” at the combine said Carroll, who added that Mallett is "ready" to discuss his on- and off-field life. Carroll denied reports that have surfaced regarding Mallett’s use of drugs.
Mallett never failed a drug test while at Arkansas, Carroll said.

brain damage in college due to drugs? Sounds reasonable. Would explain things about certain posters.

Smoking weed or even hallucinogenics and drinking is one thing. I don't think you "experiment" with hard core drugs like coke, heroine, meth, etc.

I have no idea which one(s) Mallet supposedly has an issue with, in the end really it should boil down to a hair follicle test. If Mallet used something heavy this season, while preparing for the biggest moment of his life, that's a huge red flag.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a pro athlete that doesn't smoke up or something similar in the off season. Lots of money and time to kill will do that.
