Top 5 Changes

time to look forward...what are the top 5 changes you would like to see for next year?

1) WR - Don't know what TG will be like next year, and I don't know if Crayton is the guy.
2) Safetly - Re-Sign Hamlin, and see if there is anything that can with Roy. He's really just not the same player, regardless of his liability in coverage, he cannot even tackle anymore.
3) Tackle - As much as I really like Flozell, I don't think it will make sense to re-sign because he's probably looking for payday and not worth it at this stage in his career. Too bad, really. Instead, I think we have to look to the draft or McQ/Free to see if we already have someone.
4) RB - See ya Julius. Sign Barber, and then draft a slasher on the first day of the draft.
5) Coaching - you know people are leaving :). I think we do what is necessary to keep Garrett. Even is we have to dump Wade. Bring Huock back for OL. Get rid of Brian Stewart.

THoughts?

1. Cornerback - need someone to replace J. Reeves.
2. Coaching - need a ST coach, keep Wade over Garrett at this point if you have to choose, get an OL coach (Houck), maybe get rid of Stewart if there's a good replacement.
3. Wide Receiver - Glenn will probably retire, time to replace him
4. Offensive Tackles - yeah, probably want to replace False Start Adams rather than give him a huge payday.
5. Safety - sigh, Roy. I don't know. I'm holding out hope for him.

THoughts?

1. We need another receiver to play opposite TO. Glenn showed that he is done, what a waste keeping him on the roster this year. He could not even make a cut without falling down. Crayton is #3 at best, he almost single handedly cost the team the game today. That slant across the middle that he dropped would have been 6 and he gave up and stopped running that fade route with 20 sec left. Romo dropped the ball perfectly at the back pylon and it would have been an easy 6 if Crayton would have kept running.

2. Sporano and Garett can leave if they want, they can even take Wade with them. The whole group was outcoached today.

3. Reeves, why are you still on the roster. I would have been in the tunnel to hand you a pink slip as you came off the field.

4. Barber ran out of gas, we have to get another legit back to compliment him.

5. I am starting to wonder if it is not time for Roy to go. He has become a liablitly now and is just not the same guy he used to be. I dont know what happend, but this is not the Roy we used to see.

Here's what I'd do.

I re-sign Hamlin for sure. If Flo is "reasonable", I re-sign him as well. Otherwise, let him go.

In FA, I go for

1. A good complement to TO at WR.

2. A veteran CB to upgrade Reeves.

In the Draft, I look to add one more CB/DB, one more RB to pair up with MBIII, and 1 more WR to add to the mix. And of course, keep drafting for the OL depth.

1. Figure out if you want to keep Wade or not.
2. Speed at WR and RB.
3. Corner back.. Not drafted, but free agency.
4. Oline, something's missing.
5. Speed - in the LB core (that will help with zone coverage as well)

The giants were rotating their D line personel; they stayed fresh while our O line just wore down.

I know Adalius Thomas cost a lot of money, but I can't help but wonder if Dallas should have gone after him.
You rarely see big plays from Ayodele and James and the giants were running right at them today.
I think Dallas needs a playmaker in the middle. If the interior of the defensive line doesn't tackle the runner then ILBs are struggling to bring the guy down 5-8 yards downfield most of the time.

And, just looked at the box score, Roy W. had one tackle today? ONE?

Larry Allen > Kyle Kosier.

Replace him with a legend... who can still play.. can still run block better than anyone... And will retire if we don't take him back.

We were premature on signing Crayton back... he was writing checks he couldn't cash since we lost to the Cheatriots.

1. Draft a CB. It's a deep class in '08 and we should be able to pick up a top 3 CB at #22. Reeves needs more time to learn the position.

2. Draft a S. This is not a knee-jerk reaction, but a position I've held for two years now; Roy has forgotten how to tackle and never knew how to cover. Big contract or no, he needs to go. We should be able to get good talent at #30.

3. Sign or draft a speedy WR. That's will open the short and intermediate routes for Barber and Witten.

4. Find someone to replace Crayton on punt returns. Anyone seen Woody Dantzler lately? ;-)

5. Start Barber at RB. We looked awesome for 2 quarters today, and then looked like crap for the other two (o-line just seemed to quit - why?).

The core is there and good. Just replace R. Williams, F. Adams, and Crayton. With a better receiver to compliment TO, we had one or two more TDs todays (drops & giving up on route.)

The problem with the linebackers is Akin A.

I think the guy is worthless.

My thoughts from the draft to now have not changed. Flozell is the worst starter on the team but Gurode is fighting for that title. Inspite of Flozell and Gurode the offensive line has improved big time this year. Those are the 2 weak links, not the offensive line coach.
1. I would not resign Flozell for any price. His fat butt needs to be flipping burgers somewhere.
2. Yes, we do need a compliment on the other side for TO.
3. The MBIII and Jones combination was a good one.
I thought they were going to use MBIII to beat down the defense and then use Jones in the second half with fresh, fast legs to finish them off. The fact is their defense beat up on our offensive line and Romo in the second half.

I felt with the New England Patriots when they signed Randy Moss for a 4th round draft pick that was all they needed to go all the way. That was with out a doubt the deal of the year and it has paid off.
If the Cowboys would have got him the whole league would be different today.

The last month the Cowboys have not been a very good team. Yet they are much improved over last year and better than we thought they would be. Maybe not as good as we had hoped but definatly heading in the right direction.

Everyone is ready to annoint Jason Garrett as the next great head coach. I think that is way premature. Heck, all of the talk about the Cowboys in the Super Bowl was premature. There is a big difference between a good offensive coordinator and a GREAT head coach. For that matter many of you were ready to put Tony Romo in the Hall of Fame by week 7 and I thought that was a little early. Romo is good and I think with a good offensive line he would really shine. I am concerned about Terry Glenn and TO as they are both getting up there in age and becoming more fragile. Wade Phillips and all of the Cowboys coaching staff and the Cowboys really exceeded my expectations. I knew going in our offensive line was terrible at best. Still you have to look at reality. The bottom line is we played better than we expected and for anyone to think this team had a chance to win the Super Bowl was dreaming. I do think we should have won today but lets face it, this Dallas Cowboys team has ZERO chance against New England. Almost across the board in every position the Patriots have the best players. There is nobody else who compares this year.
San Diego has a slim chance next week and if they can not do it then it is all over but the crying.

I agree with you. Up until the end of the 4th quarter, Romo was given decent protection though.
I think that if they wouldn't have abandoned the run in the 2nd half the outcome would have been different. MBIII has helped change the outcome of a few games for the 'Boys, and JJ off the bench would have been a big help too!

1. CB (draft)
2. WR (draft and/or Henderson from NO)
3. LB - need a Simon Fletcher/Ray Lewis/Urlacher-type playing in the middle.
4. RB (draft)
5. Guard (draft)

Note: This team may be set at left tackle with Free if Flo goes. Re-sign Hamlin and Barber and say bu-bye to Jujo.
