Top 5 contenders for SB 57

Why the top 5? Why not the top 14 or top 8 as it will be after the WC weekend?

There are some teams that could surprise, as they do every season, like the Broncos, Chargers, Colts, Raiders, Ravens, Vikings, Cowboys, Eagles or Cardinals.

I look at the teams a little unsettled at QB like the Niners, Seahawks and Saints in the NFC.

The only thing that is reliable to me is that the Rams are the defending champs and didn't lose much but they are still not a sure thing.

Anyone but the Cowboys. So 31 teams have a shot. The top 5 of them? I don't care. But the Rams are No 1.

There’s no reason to place us in Top 5 based on recent history or trends . If we were in some divisions might not even be a playoff team .

But if you are in the playoffs with a single elimination format the best team doesn’t always win which could provide a glimmer of hope.

Each season can provide surprises while some of the constants remain. Generally the top rated teams are based on recent history and trends.

probably because they weren't considered the best team in the league last season either, weren't particularly dominant, and other teams got better as well.

I don't see the 49ers as a top contender. Something tells me the Chiefs are not going to be there either. My dark horses are the Chargers and Eagles.

This article was put out months ago but seemed like an interesting off season topic .

Their top 5 are the Rams, Bengals , Bills, Chiefs and 49ers.

Interesting the Packers or Bucs aren’t in that group but would probably be in top 10. I’m not sure I’d put SF ahead of both .

The article assumes Trey Lance is starting. Then they go one to talk about having a prolific passing game and not running as much. That's not what Trey Lance does.

It's too hard to pick a top 5. Too many teams in the AFC. Then you have whatever dark horse pops up. More than half the Super Bowls have a team in there that didn't make the playoffs the year before. Both the Chargers and Broncos would qualify.

I wouldn't even put the Packers in the top 5. They never get to the super bowl and they didn't do too much to improve the team in the off season. If anything they got worse.

I'll also omit the Chiefs. Partially due to their tough conference, and partially due to Mahomes cap spike this year. When you go from a 7M dollar cap hit to a 35M cap hit over night, something has to give. That's usually talent.

They could be. The problem is they don't have a quarterback better than Ryan Fitzpatrick on the roster. Because this kid is going to have to make a Josh Allen type leap in his 3rd season if the Dolphins want to go anywhere.

my top 5 would be rams bucs bills chiefs bengals joe burrow is the real deal and that makes huge difference for a team

Don't count out QB Lawrence. We really don't know how good he is. We'll have to wait for the Jags to get a little better to see. It doesn't take long for teams to turn things around anymore.

A friend of mine is a huge Dolphins fan since forever. I have some small time bets with him in regard to how well the Dolphins do as opposed to the Cowboys. I think he's delusional, but he's super confident and has mentioned they improved their OL. But I haven't looked into it. They got Connor Williams playing Center?

Besides the OL, which is an unknown to me. They do have all you could want in a team. But Tua is an ok to poor pocket passer. But I guess that could be because they had one of the worst offensive lines last year.

I live in south florida. They are dumber than Cowboys fans. They are getting all hyped up about getting ripped off in the Hill trade. One of the worst trades I have ever seen. Tua isnt Mahomes. They still dont have any backs down there unless they got one in the draft and I didnt see it.

If putting Connor Williams at center is improving the Oline then thats all I need to know. LOL

Wow, so their entire season and trade for hill depends on Connor Williams controling the middle of the line? And he has to actually snap the ball and make line calls now? WOW!!!!
