So far this season, who do you think are the top five Cowboys? Here's my list..

Top 5
1. Tony Romo- Hard to find any flaws in his play so far. He saved our season.
2. Roy Williams- He has been dominant and has more game-changing plays than anyone. His ferocity leads our great defense.
3. Terence Newman- There is no such thing as a #1 reciever when playing against the Cowboys.
4. Demarcus Ware- Pressuring the quarterback, stuffing the runningback, covering the wide reciever, making the offensive tackle look like a third grader. Is there anything he doesn't do?
5. Mat McBriar- Our best punter since Danny White and our best special teamer since Bill Bates. He has been helping us win the field position battle all year long.

Honorable Mentions:
Terrell Owens- He has been invaluable to our offense, freeing up all our other weapons while still remaining our primary weapon. He has also been a nice surprise in the locker room. A few key drops keeps him from being in the Top 5.
Marc Colombo- He has done a great job at filling one of our biggest worries.
Jason Ferguson- He is earning all that cash and then some.
Marion Barber- In a limited role, he has been brilliant. He never seems to go down on first contact. Leads the NFC in touchdowns.
Greg Ellis- Fantastic in his transition to LB. We may be even better without him, but that is not a reflection of his great play, it is a reflection of the fact that we depended too much on him.

I think I would have to give Ware the #1 for the defensive side of the ball. I think he has been the catalyst for everything we have done on that side of the ball. Not to take anything away from Newman or Roy but my vote gooes for Ware. His sack numbers just don't tell the tale of the havoc he is causing.

I was gonna say Ferguson belongs in the Top 5 but it's hard to bounce any of those guys. I'd make Ferguson 4 and make Ware and McBriar 5a and 5b :)

That is one hell of a point... with the depth that Dallas has on defense now, I thought whole heartedly that Dallas would be able to throw a whole lot more at teams since Ellis is out of the lineup, especially since Greg Ellis had never played linebacker before. That's not necessarily a slap against Ellis or what he was able to bring to the table at OLB, but I knew the other fellas behind him were coming of age and were able and ready to play at a high level... see Burnett (sky's the limit), Carpenter (he's just gonna keep getting better and better), J Glymph (size of Merriman without the hype)...

I would add Gurode to your list, and that would be my top 10. If we run the table it is quite possible that we will be able to add a few more names to the honorable mentions list. (i.e. J. Jones, Flozell, Glenn, Witten, Bradie James).

poor Terry Glenn, well at least he did get some love earlier in the season.

I'd put him on any list I was making.

when I was first making my list, Terry Glenn was on it, but then I thought Barber and Ellis had to make it so Glenn go bumped..
