Animals is their best record. There is so much angst, so much anger, so many ridiculous guitar solos that sound nothing like what came before or what came after. It is their best record, and I dare any one to argue it against me. Perfect in theme and music from start to end. Simply put, that album RAGES.
The solos on Dogs are mind-blowing. I love Animals as well. But I rank it behind Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall (I know a lot of Floyd purists would take issue with this, but I love The Wall.) I would put Animals at the same level as Meddle.

I should hasten to add that The Piper at The Gates of Dawn is equally brilliant. It's just that it's so different that I feel that it's an apples/oranges thing when comparing it with non-Sid Floyd albums.

Meddle is a helluva album. Right now I have Animals as #1, Obscured By Clouds as #2, Meddle as #3, and Wish You Were Here as #4.

Yeah, the guitar work on Meddle is great.

Ranking them is tough for me, I just picked out the ones that stick out. Obscured by Clouds intrigues me. Might be a Christmas toy from Mrs. Santa this year! I'll put it on my list.

True, I just started getting into the stuff with Barrett. Amazing stuff, from what I've learned, he had a lot of influence on bands back in the day as well as now.

The Cult, Love
The Stone Roses, The Stone Roses
The House of Love, The House of Love

Forgot about them. War and Unforgettable Fire were my favorites.

good call. Those are good albums. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" from "War" is one of the best songs of all time imo.

Im not a big fan of their newer stuff, but they had some absolute classics back in the day.
